is she climbing a spiky pole or is the spiky pole about to impale her? i can't tell because of the perspective and the hand position lol

She’s climbing a vine with thorns on it, and gets cut up with saws in the process. and when she finally sees the light at the top, and thinks she’s escaped, it just turns out to be a drawing, and the vine breaks, causing Kirumi to fall to her death.
