Imagine the triple star icon turning into the sun icon:
The 3 stars on the edge of the screen, spiralling into the center, and as they make contact, the screen fades to white, and fades back to normal, with your sun icon

Or the sun icon to the binary icon:
The sun starts glitching out, then the whole screen glitching out, and then the screen looks like it crashed, only to reboot with your binary icon

Or the binary icon to the shooting star icon:
The numbers shift to the side of the icon, and disappearing, while the shooting star quickly makes its way to the black background :)

another idea for single star to binary star:
the star begins to spin, and begins to stretch out, before eventually it starts to form into two spheres that are connected in the middle, and then these split and turn into two stars orbiting eachother before the spinning stops fairly quickly and the binary star is presented
