They Tried it in a Small Town
On August 8, 2023 an Officer with the Hot Springs Police Department was working "routine" traffic enforcement. The officer came into contact with a vehicle with a minor equipment violation and initiated a traffic stop. As the officer identified and spoke with the two vehicle occupants they detected the odor of an illegal substance emitting from within the vehicle. With assistance from Fall River County Sheriff's Office Deputies, a vehicle search was completed. During the search and subsequent arrest of both occupants, law enforcement located over 35 lbs of raw marijuana, 6+ lbs of THC wax and a significant amount of cash. The street value of the seizure, depending on quality, varies anywhere from $200,000 - $300,000.00.
