It’s mostly because a Ukrainian victory in the war would mean the collapse of the current Russian political system, which the US could use to its advantage as currently Russia and China pose as the biggest threats to US national interests, a Russia coup or civil war could mean the rise of a Russian Democracy, or a new Russian Dictatorship

An unstable Russia could be worse than Putin. Did we learn nothing from Iraq? Russia does have "weapons of mass destruction" for real this time.

I agree with everything you said. I was just adding to it. Russia has never been a democracy. I don't think Russia will ever be one anytime in the near future. Losing the war could lead to nationalism as it did in Europe in the 20th century. I think forcing Putin into peace negotiations is the best bet.

Yes, a Russian democracy is unlikely, only time will tell how this war plays out
