From everything I've read over the years, there were Traitors, really bad dudes, and every type of person down to the girl/guy next door at the riot. There were small businesspeople, doctors and lawyers. Many were wise or lucky enough to watch from a distance. Some came ready to do battle. Some were literally dragged in by the mob. It is mostly the last group that the otherwise innocents will probably come from.

In 1969, I worked during the day and was in a working Rock Band. I had long hair and a new Camaro. I was regularly stopped by cops for a "drug check." Guilty until proven innocent preceded MAGA by decades.

But clemency boards would be concerned with people already found guilty in court, or who pleaded guilty. So, innocence in fact would no longer be an issue. They were the fodder for the violent groups that day.

I never said "staged insurrection investigation and falsely charged..." Those are your words. i would call them victims lured into low level violations in order to provide cover for those who carried out pre-planned violence aimed at interrupting the counting of Electors. It was part of a larger plan to attempt to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, that failed. To me, it looked like a bad episode of the old "Mission Impossible" TV show. But, the plan had too many moving parts, and each one had to work as planned. Luckily for Democracy, Mike Pence did his Constitutional Duty that day.
