And, the swarm begins.

This is a response to Merry Prankster:

For the purposes of the discussion on Abortion, a woman is someone who has a uterus.

For purposes of social interaction, people can decide what to call themselves. It is really none of my business what someone wants to call themselves.

For the purposes of competitive sports a transexual is, to me, the same as a woman taking illegal hormones to increase strength, etc. Sporting Federations need legal latitude to make competition fair through their rules.

As an aside, it is possible to have discussions without the use of vulgarities to describe transexuals.

I’m a retired 22 year military vet who uses TRICARE and I’m totally fine with this.

What if a Black, Woman Senator held up promotions over under representation of Black, Woman Field Officers? Would you be OK with that? Holding promotions punishes people for something they haven't done. It takes away promotions based on honorable service, hard work and related qualifications. And you're OK with that? That's right, you're retired. It has no effect on you. Talk is cheap.

What if?

That’s not what happened.

What if? What if? What if the Queen had testicles? Well, then she’d be the King.

So, you are OK with Tuberville blocking promotions for thousands of active duty folk because 20-women a year have abortions or similar invasive procedures?

According to THE LIBERAL BIBLE, CNN News, there are only 265 promotions being held up…but so what. Who cares. Promotions get held up all the time. Touberville is simply protesting new Pentagon reproductive health policies which “provide a travel allowance to service members and their dependents who must cross state lines to get an abortion because of where they are stationed.” If you want an abortion, fine, get one. But get one on your own dime.

Both policies are long-standing. Military Hospitals performed 91-abortions between 2016-2022. The military has always given official time for medical care and paid for travel to seek care not available in the serviceperson's community. Tuberville is trying to change longstanding policies to superimpose extremist religion-based philosophies over military responsibilities and prerogatives.

Isn’t there a law that bars federal taxpayer funds for most abortions?

The so-called "Hyde Amendment," blocks the use of Medicaid funds for that purpose.

So called? Do you not respect the rule of law?

Since it does not amend anything known as "Hyde," using the phrase "so-called," is appropriate.

It amended the former law that allowed 300,000 abortions per year to be paid for with taxpayer funds. But now you’re just arguing semantics and spewing hyperbole.

265 promotions at the military's highest level...generals and admirals. Tuberville's nonsense is doing the Armed Forces no good at all. He just wants to indulge in the stubborn nonsense that the unhinged Right is famous for.

Stop making stuff up. Tuberville can’t prevent nominees from being confirmed on his own. You know it. I know it. Everyone knows it. Schumer, as the senate majority leader, could literally do this if he wanted to.

Senate rules allow a single Senator to put indefinite holds on nominees.

Why are you upset that the rules of the Senate are being upheld?

The hold and the related Filibuster, harken back to the pre-Civil War era when slave states used them to keep Blacks from being treated equally to Whites, under the law. Today it is being used to keep Women as second-class citizens when it comes to making their own health care decisions. I am not "pro-abortion," as much as I am Pro-Choice. As men it is not our choice to make.

Yet, white republican men were the all the choices for the black women (and men) to grant them their rightful freedom from slavery. So it is possible for someone to legislate for an issue that they are not genetically or biologically associated with.

Define a woman,Larry.

In the mean time, it appears to me and the rest of the sane world that our government is doing everything they can negate what a real, biological woman is. When the government allows chicks with dicks to compete against real, biological girls, they are telling real, biological women to go f**k themselves.

No he isn’t.
Milley, Austin, Levine, et al are demoralizing our military. And Jake Sullivan.
