No it was reverted because there were bugs with how the rails handled the minecarts. Nobody complained lmao.

No, it wasn't a bug, it was intentional so that ppl weren't going at like 100 blocks per second and then making sharp turns.

How else were they going to turn? Minecraft doesn't have larger curve sizes.

Ok, but does it make sense to go at 100 blocks per second and not fly off the rails when you turn? Idk the exact number, but it was pretty dang high.

Nobody complained about the speed, they complained about how buggy the physics were. If Mojang wants to completely redo the minecart they're gonna have to redo the physics engine for the minecart as well.
