That’s why Shadow is my favorite character in fiction, period. A character with absolute intense and sometimes bullsh*t lore, but a lot of heart and good messaging behind it. Also, the IDW ark that those last two panels are from is freaking epic!

My favorite character arc for Shadow was in Sonic 06. Mephiles taking Shadow to the future and showing him how Earth will someday betray him, and rubbing salt in the wound by revealing to Omega that he would be the one to defeat Shadow, but team dark just pulls together and fights back harder. I love it so much. And that line “If the world chooses to become my enemy, I will fight like I always have.” I get freaking goosebumps!

I mean like i love lots of shadow arcs (sonic boom is DEFINITELY getting a NO from me)

I’m personally not fond of the over the top angsty personality of Shadow from his solo game (or boom), but I feel like with what shadow appears in now, they’re taking him in a good direction. I’ve loved shadow’s appearances in Murder of Sonic, and the recent IDW stuff. Here’s hoping the third Sonic movie does right by him.

from what i've read about the summary of the plot (in the official sonic encyclopedia) for the sonic boom games following rise of lyric, they seem to have made him a bit better, but i haven't played shattered crystal or fire and ice so idk how they actually write him. he was pretty.... a r g h in the show, but i honestly did kinda like the concept that he lived out in a cave, away from everyone else. it fit him ngl

I’m also not personally fond of the concept that Gerald made a deal with Black Doom. Because the whole point of Gerald’s story is that he was a nice guy with good motives, who lost all sh*t when Maria died. It just feels out of character I think.

he was trying to do anything to achieve his goal, and from what i know he was having it so shadow would defeat black doom with the power he was given
