Psssst . . . first, anyone studying history knows that if you go far enough back in time, everyone is living in a stolen country. Second, giving sanctuary to ONE former ally of a nation is not the same as -- say -- Joe Biden given free room and board to over 6 million illegals in only two years. These are not difficult concepts to anyone NOT . . . a . . . leftist.

Let me break it off for you. First In the Iranian Revolution started because the Iranian King was been backed by the U.S Government as they do every time. Second the Government supported his dictator tatics and the Shah never did nothing for the people and made a mess in Iran. Third the Government gave him asylum in America. Fourth the Iranian People forced the U.S Government to bring the shah back and the Government refused.

The Shah was a brutal and bloody butcher who had thousands tortured and killed, but he, like his father, did much to modernize Iran, raising literacy levels, liberty for all religions and women... Development was everywhere, the economy was strong...
Khomeini and the Islamic regime, of course, were and are far worse.

Taking hostages did not force the U.S Government to do anything other than apply sanctions that are still going on, wrecking the economy. It also got the country to be one of the most hated by Americans to this very day.
