Why don't people want to pay less themselves instead of wanting others to pay more?

Jealous much?

Politicians taking advantage of the general public's ignorance of how things work. Not that I'm an expert.

Elon Musk's effective tax rate is 3.74% when he even pays tax at all, which some years he just doesn't.

My effective tax rate is 17%. Yours is probably something similar. Aren't you a little bit mad that you're given a higher tax burden than Musk? He fires employees, not hires.

Actually, you are wrong. Elon Musk hires employees. Just admit you were wrong for once.
0 ups, 11mo
He's been scrambling to hire them after firing half of Twitter's staff, which turned out to be a tad too much.

Just as I thought. Leftists never ever admit they're wrong. It's hilarious at this point 😂

OK. But. Most of Twitter still got fired. So.

I've learned the closest you get to admitting you're wrong is when you start your reply with "Ok."

You SHOULD have noticed that I only do that when you've said something that is completely
and totally irrelevant to the conversation. But maybe I'm expecting too much of you.

You mean he fired all the worthless, money-draining employees that did absolutely nothing of value? Oh, the evil man. He's just as bad as Hitler.

Meanwhile, at Tesla and SpaceX....

He actually didn't. Twitter has been in total disarray because the people who knew how to keep the wheels turning are gone.

No, it's running pretty smoothly as can be expected with a completely new ownership. And someone who doesn't like bleeding money as the other owners did.

I find it humorous at best that you think censoring people you don't like is a good thing. And the people he fired were indeed worthless.

I don't know what school of business you went to but no, changing management does not normally cause this kind of disaster.

Hat disaster? I'm on Twitter and the only thing I see that had some confusion was the blue checks. Outside of that, it's been moving along the same.

I mean, there are more conservative voices back on again, but that isn't a disaster.

it really hasn't been moving along the same. At all. But if you want to just ignore the disruptions to their operations, then yeah, everything's smooth.

Except for the parts that aren't.

You called it a disaster. A disaster is a submarine imploding in the middle of the ocean with people on board. Twitter runs differently. More freedom to state your opinion. And worthless people lost their kush jobs that were draining money. That's not a disaster.

Disaster just means a bad event, literally ill-starred as in the stars said it was going to be bad. A major crash in the company value (he is NOT getting his $44 billion back), less than half of the company staff size, a data privacy nightmare as the company is failing to comply with government regulations all around the world, a huge hit to revenue (if that's not a bad sign for a for-profit company then what is?), server outages and slow service across its userbase, a drop in userbase (if that's not a bad sign for a social media company then what is?), an interface on a website-driven core product that no longer loads properly for most users (remember all those worthless people you fired?), and a CEO who has publicly stated on record that bankruptcy is a possible outcome he is considering as the resolution to all this....

...that easily fits the definition of a literal disaster.

When he sells what's left of the weckage at a loss, it's huge tax right off too, btw. We'll all get to refund him some mucko bucks. Not sure it won't what he's lost on it, let alone recoup his Guinness Records record breaking $182 billion net worth drop, but it's still a big chunk of taxpayer $$ benefiting him.

He ain't paying "tens of millions of dollars," the peons are. To him.

Even if he were trying to destroy Twitter (which he's not and the fact you have to use reddit to prove the point is humorous) would it be a loss? Maybe for the far left it would be. They live and die by Twitter. That's one reason they kept banning conservative voices. And no, that isn't a "right-wing conspiracy theory."

What does that have to do with anything I said, other than your non-rebuttal to what someone on Twitter stated that, like everything else everyone has told you regarding the matter, is far more informed than anything you have or can come up with - which is why you hadn't.

This was a business transaction, one that everyone on the planet knows Elon tried to back out of then was forced paid double what it was worth at the time of purchase because he has a big mouth and got his face stuck on the stupid tape he wrapped around himself with this ball shaking dance.

Those aren't some "L vs R" talking points, those are facts, which is on you for not knowing or at least not trying to look up to refute what others have posted because we know you did not do bother to do that at all ;)

There is no proof he is trying to destroy Twitter. Some dumb-f**k on Reddit said some things and POOF! it's suddenly fact? Get out of here with that BS. Reddit is filled with little termites living in their grandma's basement, eating Cheetos and drinking Diet Coke and slamming their fat f**king fingers on the keyboard while wearing their home made tin foil hat.

Then people like you come along and regurgitate the BS as if it were actual truth. Then claiming he destroys jobs and doesn't create them. Yeah, I don't need to refute anything.

"Those aren't some "L vs R" talking points, those are facts,"

Really? So just because you claim them as fact, it makes them fact? All I see are opinions and a screenshot of someone on Reddit making weird claims that musk is trying to destroy Twitter. If he wanted to destroy Twitter, he would have already done it.

You pay $5,100 of your $30,000 salary

Elon pays $37,400 PER EACH million of his personal income

(not to be confused with or counting all the taxes his business pay)

Why aren't you lobbying for you to pay less instead of lobbying for a person that is much more successful than you paying more?

Btw - what is the employee count at Twitter before and after Elon ?

Because we need roads. We need schools. We need fire stations. We need buses and trains.

I DON'T want to cut tax revenue, it pays for things that make my life better. And it's not fair that Elon Musk hasn't been paying his fair share of the burden proportional to his income.
0 ups, 10mo
All those things are injurious to the climate.

You didn't state the twitter employee count pre Elon and post Elon.

What do you think is his fair proportion?
