*She dives underwater and ove loses sight of her*

*puts on goggles and dives underwater as well, ditching the gun and shoves a bagful of water torpedos into his pocket (you know those little things, right?)*

*He throws one at Astra, slowed down by the water, but still fast bc of his Demigod strength*

*it hits her in the arm, putting a small but noticable dent in it*

Astra: impressive, but nothing compared to THIS

*She locks her feet to the bottom of the pool and her hands morph into large propellers*

Astra: let's just say this will BLOW you away!

*Ove is pushed to the other side of the pool, dropping the water torpedos*

Ove: *pushes his feet into the ground to stop the movement*

Nice! Now eat this, bolt-y!

*He summons a ton magic torpedos, they're a pure golden color, and they all go flying at Astra through the water*

Astra: I've never done this before but I hope this works!

*Her entire body morphs into a wall with holes exactly where the torpedos are about to go*

*None of them hit her*

*She goes back to regular form*

Ove: wait, you can morph into stuff?

*They pop their heads out of the water*

*she gives him a blank stare as they sink to the bottom*

I assume it's something IN the water, possibly a specific bacteria, but that's just scratching the surface.

Eggy: actually, I studied Inkling biology, and it's actually because of their skin and their evolution. Basically, when they evolved to be able to transform back and forth between their two forms, they lost the ability to survive in water, because of their thin skin.

Collector: yeah but water isn't that acidic, I don't see how thin skin would be a problem. That's why me and other researchers are stumped.

Eggy: it so thin that the water can pierce it, and their insides dissolve when exposed to large amounts of water.

Eggy: oh yeah! I almost forgot!
*He pulls a small vile, opens it, pours it into the water, and the water turns purple.*
It's safe, I made a chemical solution to make water safe for Inklings and Octolings!

*Inkmatas gets into the water*

The water is hot, but not too hot. It's at a perfect heat.
