So reddit is about to become less moderated. We might get people coming from there but I doubt it.

Reddit's mobile app is just bad, even for the average user and not just because blind people can't access it.

So many other apps have made it easier to use, and Reddit thought it's a good idea to kill all of them to increase traffic on the official app.

Before this, they kept shoving a "use the mobile app 🤓" notification on web users which made it impossible for anyone (me too 🥺) to access anything without installing the app.

Literal pain, I had no idea third party apps existed before now. I’ve just been using the main one (and I agree it sucks because it doesn’t have a lot of features it should that these third party apps have).

There is a protest with a lot of popular subreddits going dark but the main meme ones and shot posting ones are still up. It’s likely not gonna do anything.

It did force an explanation from u/spez, the CEO. He says most moderation bots will keep on working, but the subreddits will have to ask for permission.
They're not giving up on killing every other platform working with Reddit. Reddit used to be cool and free.
