Shit, I never thought of it that way. I guess since money is also a social construct that means I'm no longer poor. :)

👍 You got it. Money, wealth, poverty - all social constructs.

🤭
No one is poor.

If you're hungry or homeless you're either lazy or you've made poor financial/life decisions.

Or you are a socialist sitting around with an outstretched hand waiting for economic equality to be placed in your palm.

Wait! Being homeless is also a social construct 😮

I'm blowing my own mind !

So many revelations are coming to mind based on your comment!

Thank you!

Yeah so many poor people who made the horrible life decision of not being born into a rich family, or going to college, or even needing life saving surgery. 🤣🤣🤣

hahaha, When not selecting rich parents to be born to is a poor life choice!

Our economy isn't a meritocracy. Most people who are homeless didn't become homeless due to poor life choices, and most rich people didn't become rich through hard work and pulling themselves up by their bootstraps.

If you even knew just how rigged the game was against you, you'd be a socialist too.

I agree. Capitalism is not a meritocracy.

As for the rest I say - nonsense.

But you have piqued my curiosity - how is the game rigged against me?

OK, I don't think you know what a social construct is in the first place.

Haircuts are social constructs - it's fairly natural to HAVE hair, but the way we style it is 100% a matter of pure fashion. Bangs and braids mean only the significance that our culture has given them. But even knowing that, people still GET haircuts, don't they? In most cases, people will spend quite a bit of their income on it.

Spending quite a bit of one's income on haircuts is a great example of poor financial/life choice.

Enlighten me - what is a social construct?

A social construct is a concept that exists as a result of human interaction. It exists because humans agree that it exists.

You might not like the interactions. You might not approve of the way people react when they got poor experiences of these interactions. But arguing that they shouldn't exist at all is circularly incorrect: money exists because we say it exists, enforced by the fact that our social interactions REQUIRE it, and expecting people to live as though it doesn't is pure nonsense.

The point is saying that gender is a social construct is to recognize that people will treat you as the gender they perceive you to be, without once ever scanning your DNA or looking at your genitals. Expecting people to live as though they're not getting social interactions at all is pure nonsense.

Why do you get to not like the results and reactions of the same human social interactions?

Likewise, "gender dysphoria" would rely on the results of the very same human interactions, yes?

You misinterpret - if concept "A" doesn't exist the relative concept "B" shouldn't exist.

Money is not required by a society. It's just easier to carry around than five hundred pounds of potatoes to trade for an unnecessary fancy haircut instead of something useful like rent or tampons.

.... Why do I get to not like.... because I'm a human being and because nobody's implanted electrodes in my brain that releases dopamine every time, that's why! What kind of country do you live in where you're not allowed to not like things?????

Precisely.

You like something others don't. As human beings they don't have to like what you like, accept what you like, or allow their children to be exposed to what you like and vice versa.

Now about spending a large amount of one's income on haircuts.....how is that not a poor financial/life choice?

Ok. So the collective responses they show when they interact with me are what we call a social construct.

It sounds like you're trying to win an argument we weren't having in the first place while passing it off as the logical conclusion to the argument we WERE having?

Your responses are no less socially constructed.

There's nothing to mull over for which I need time.

No, see, again, there is, because as we can all see, my responses exist. You're just ignoring them.

How can one be born other than the gender they are?

So basically a person comes out of the womb, a doctor assigns them a sex based on their physical properties, and then everyone assigns them a gender based on sex. But then they realize that their gender and sex don't match and they do not like it, so they change it.
Have you ever actually listened to a trans person or are you just going by what you're favorite cishet alpha male podcaster says?

"Gender is a social construct" is your cult's mantra.

You have regurgitated the usual party lines and insults but you have not offered an answer to the question.

How is one born other than the gender they are?

Is English perhaps not your first language?

Still not an answer.

Oh wow - a leftist xenophobic racist remark.

If gender is a social construct gender dysphoria, gender "identity", gender "transitioning" etc., are also social constructs.
