I take the radio silence as a good sign. The validation of pedestrians has never interested me. On the contrary--the day my own thoughts tune to the same frequency as those of the common idiot is the day I cease being able to entertain myself.
On the rare occasions when one of my posts resonates with another person enough for them to engage with it, I view it as a like-minded individual reaching out through a sea of simpletons.
If anything I feel bad for the popular kids because they have to wonder whether people actually think their posts are worthwhile or if they're just happy to be part of the crowd cheering on the winning team.
(Isolation also tends to make a person rather inwardly focused, which doesn't lend itself to actively seeking out other people's stuff in the first place.)
I'll take 1 sincere friend over universal, mindless adoration any day. Hell, I'd take NO friends over that.
