The reaction you get no matter how reasonable to request is

- LGBTQ+ throw a parade celebrating their pride from years of being marginalized and obtaining rights

- Families bring their children to the parade sharing support

- Conservatives; STOP PUSHING YOUR BELIEFS ON OUR CHILDREN !!!!

you mean where parents willfully bring their children to be read to, with parents and others there to participate and be entertained by over the top dressed and made up volunteers. again may I reiterate wilfully participating with volunteers in gaudy colourful costumes.

...And having children stuff money into their thongs. Read that again. These lunatics want the kids to do other disgusting things, too; things they won't ask for if one of the parents are around.

Plus, you can just leave the kids there for an hour while you go do stuff that would be 100 times harder with little kids in tow. Trust me, I was VERY annoying as a kid, which my mother can attest to. There is heavy incentive to drop the kids off at drag queen story hour and go do something else.

It's not helping that even the L.A. Times acknowledged these often take place in literal BARS as well as libraries.

The parents that bring their children to see these people should have their parental rights removed permanently.
