I am opposed to locking up people simply for being Nazis. The Constitution guarantees us all the same rights, including the right to spew Nazi propaganda. Extremists from the far left and far right have taken full advantage of this. Mr. Schoep has taken full advantage of this in the past when his group embraced MAGA and vice-versa. Today he speaks freely about the feelings of unfairness in how poor white citizens were and are treated. In seeking to level the playing field for fair access to opportunity we have created tension between Blacks it has lifted out of poverty and their White neighbors left behind. There is plenty of evidence of the "success," of race-based affirmative action. And there is a whole segment of the right-wing extremist movement that evidences its failure in the PR arena.
The VA is a generous program that gives disability compensation, Discounted Home Loans and Health Care to a discreet group, and practically nobody bitches about it. Maybe Affirmative Action programs should require a pay-back period of working in programs aimed at making things better for all poor people. Or we could jail folks who overtly discriminate in hiring or housing, etc. Charge them with Assault on Citizenship?
