11. That's a given
12. That's a strawman
13. That's also a red herring

How's it a strawman or a red herring?

Strawman: Never did the op EVER make an argument that America is or even should be a theocracy. You are intentionally misrepresenting the OP's statements in order to discredit.

Red herring: You are attempting to distract from the OP's statements by instead bringing up religion and its role in politics.

I never said he did say that. But there are quite a few people who do feel that way.

"You are attempting to distract from the OP's statements by instead bringing up religion and its role in politics"

He's the one who brought up sin and righteousness and a creator

Then that makes it a red herring. Changing the issue to the very few people who do feel that way. And you're still attempting to associate him with those people without any evidence, so that's still a strawman.

Also, where does it say he's talking about the government? I think he's talking about society as a whole. It's a "hot take," if you will.m So that's still a red herring.

And yes. The OP mentions church and "the Creator." However, nowhere does he make the argument that this is what everyone must believe. That would violate the First Amendment. He is saying that it offends liberals to hear that. And as for sin, most things the Catholic Church considers "sinful" are also held by society as a whole to be wrong, so it would not violate the First Amendment to outlaw them. So long as something can be justified using secular means, there wouldn't even be the slightest bit of a case that could be brought up against it.

He made those statements as if they are established facts. They are not. And plenty of conservatives get offended when they hear things contrary to the meme.

That's true. But many people want to outlaw things like same-sex marriage and abortion because of what their holy book says. They can make that argument all they want, but the Constitution doesn't say that that's where our laws come from.

And liberals say plenty of things that are established facts, are not.

Actually, I don't care about same-sex-whatever, so long as it stays private (don't ask, don't tell). As for abortion, yes, the Catechism says it is wrong, and I certainly agree, but my arguments for abortion being illegal are all secular. Yes, the Constitution does not mention religion, but that does not mean something cannot be made into law simply because it coincides with religious beliefs. If that were true, murder, rape, theft, arson, and a whole host of other crimes would be legal, since they are also considered immoral by most churches.

The fact that we need lists for this random liberal shit is depressing.
