Rose paused for a second. It was genuinely a good answer, Ivy hadn’t seen her in two years and only had limited information on the continent. Not only that, Ivy thought she was dead.

“That is understandable, and I’m sure me understandably lashing out like this isn’t helping. But Sumac, seriously, why would you have her exiled?”

“That wasn’t my intention!” Sumac pleaded. It was no use. Rose grabbed him and started walking away.

“You and I are going to have a little chat.”

“Mom wait!” Ivy screamed as she ran after him.

*Rose was now carrying Sumac while Ivy and Maple chased after her. Ivy was worried her mom would hurt Sumac, they couldn’t afford that right now. Swallowtail tried his best to follow using only sound to guide him. Rose’s glare alone looked like it could kill someone*

Maple: wait, he just said he didn’t start it.

Rose: I don’t believe that for a damn second.

*Jade, Pipevine, Autumn, and watched on as the other four continued walking. Swallowtail gave up trying to follow and slowly returned to you. The next few minutes felt like hours as the shouting continued while Rose was scolding Sumac. Finally they all came back*

Rose: I’m going to have a nice talk with Belladonna when this is over. *her concerned parent panic was over, she took a few deep breaths to calm down*

*Sumac sat in silence for the rest of the night, not even Maple could get him to talk*

Bloodworm- what did Rose tell Sumac that made him shut up?

Ivy: she found out.

Jade: about what?

Ivy: I was exiled from my tribe after I lost my mother, we all thought she was dead, including me.

Maple: someone started a rumor that Ivy was actually the one to kill her mother because she’s half Hivewing. Everyone blamed Sumac but he claims someone else told him and he asked a group of dragons if they thought it was true.

Ivy: knowing him, it sounds like something he would make up to get himself out of trouble, but he sounded pretty serious.

Pipevine: yikes, I would have been angry if I was her as well.

Ivy: for a moment I though she was going to kill him.. I’ve never seen her that angry.

*Autumn tried talking to Sumac, she had some success but he didn’t speak much. He mostly stayed silent*

Bloodworm- Ivy if I was your mother I would have killed him but second chances are always better...most of the time

Maple: I think the only reason she didn’t because we need him. Every dragon we have against Wasp counts, especially now that she has nearly total control of the continent.

Ivy: there’s more. She wouldn’t actually kill him anyways. She doesn’t like killing and she believes that he will learn from his mistake.

Bloodworm- I like the way your mother think Ivy.

Ivy: she’s a good parent. I’ve missed her a lot. *shifting tones now since she didn’t want to show her soft side again* alright, so what are we doing about lab supplies?

Maple: let’s get some rest for the night and we’ll discuss plans in the morning.

Bloodworm- alright then, good night everyone.

*you all slept pretty well it was now morning, Pipevine and Jade were checking Autumn’s wings, one of them appeared to be injured. Swallowtail was sitting by himself, though Maple, Ivy, and Autumn occasionally glanced towards him. His ear’s sometimes twitched. Sumac and Rose were having another discussion on Ivy’s exile, with Ivy and Maple trying to switch the subject for planning to steal lab equipment.*

Maple: look can we discuss this later?

Rose: can’t you see I’m explaining why he should have asked Ivy?

Ivy: he probably didn’t want to ask me because I definitely would have lashed out at him.

Sumac: you did do that after everyone else knew. It’s understandable given what you saw.

Ivy: now you admit that.

Rose: so you did ask her?

Sumac: not in the best way. Everyone was talking about it first too. Can we please talk about raiding the hive?

Rose: I still can’t believe you were exiled. *she lets out a frustrated huff before letting the dragonets talk about plans to raid the hives for supplies*

Bloodworm- so you guys finally get on to the task at claw?

Ivy watched as everyone landed in the cave. It was unfortunate that she had to fly way out west or super close to the cliff wall because it was afternoon by the time they arrived on the continent.

“We should move further in, we’ll rest for a while before we start looking for dragons who might need our help,” Ivy suggested.

“We should definitely stay hidden for now,” said Maple.

Sumac was already complaining, “I don’t understand why we’re back here, it’s too dangerous to try to get dragons to escape now.”

Ivy ignored him as she led the group into the caves. They had landed a little bit south of Jewel hive since this was the first cave that they found they felt was safe. There was a cave junction ahead, several different paths connected together. All of them heard voices coming from one tunnel. Ivy walked towards it since the reason they were here was to help get as many dragons they could, those that were still free at least, off the continent. However, a hivewing stepped into the room.

That was unfortunate, for the hivewing. Ivy had killed many of them while exiled and isolated from the rest of her tribe. She didn’t hesitate and her reaction was swift, she began running towards him.

“What do you mean the room isn’t—“

Ivy tackled the Hivewing and they rolled since he tripped her. She was now on top of the Hivewing and was already about to stab him wither her wrist stinger through the neck

“IVY, STOP!” Maple yelled.

“What do you mean stop?!”

*Ivy had knocked off Swallowtail’s blindfold and extra bandaging. She stood over top of Swallowtail ready to slice his throat. Maple ran over to her to stop her. A silkwing ran out of the tunnel to help Swallowtail, and an adult leafwing was close behind, but still out of view. The silkwing immediately attacked Ivy, but Ivy just threw him on the ground*

Sumac: alright, the idiot silkwing deserved that one. Who’s the hivewing Maple? You clearly know them.

Swallowtail: *he definitely looked frightened, he was ready to block Ivy’s stinger, his heightened rate of breathing prevented him from speaking, and so did the stinger*

Maple: Ivy, get off of Swallowtail.

Bloodworm- Another hivewing?

*you all could definitely see it’s Swallowtail now*

Ivy: is it safe if I allow him to live?

Autumn: Yes. He’s sympathetic to leafwings. Maple even joked that he was secretly a leafwing with him.

Ivy: why is he blindfolded?

Ivy: that’s what I—

???: get off him if you know what’s good for you.

Ivy: you aren’t much of a challenge either, so I wouldn’t be talking if I were you. But fine.

*Ivy gets off Swallowtail. Jade and the other silkwing help Swallowtail up, they don’t realize who each other are yet. You heard running coming from the cave*

Bloodworm- someone else is coming...

*An adult leafwing runs into the room*

????: Ivy?!

Ivy: *turning around while ending lead away from Swallowtail* mom?!

Sumac: Rose?! You’re alive?

Rose: this is certainly a chaotic greeting. Swallowtail, are you alright.

Swallowtail: I’m okay.

Rose: By the trees you have no idea how glad I am to finally see you’re safe again. *Ivy ran up to hug her, she was sobbing* It’s alright. I just got lost in the caves coming back.

???: that’s your daughter?

Rose: yes, what happened.

???: she nearly killed Swallowtail!

Maple: she didn’t know. I didn’t think we would run into him upon arriving on the continent.

Jade: that’s our fault.

Ivy: in my defense I had no clew who Swallowtail was. The only Hivewing I knew about was Bloodworm, That’s still my fault. You’re still suspicious though.

Sumac: I’m not trusting this Hivewing yet.

Autumn: yeah.. um.. he is sympathetic to leafwings, but more recently Queen Wasp was able to control him. She couldn’t do that before. Just a heads up for you.

Bloodworm- well that's comforting...

Sumac: so what are we supposed to do when that happens?

Rose: try to restrain him. He still has control over most of his body when that happens, and he tends to hurt himself as much as possible to try to get her to leave him alone.

Maple: yeah, we’ve seen an incident with him like that.

Swallowtail: I’m glad to see you guys again.

*(the reason that Jade and “Skipper” don’t recognize each other yet is because I still haven’t decided on Skipper’s name, so I might temporarily haunt the role play while I create the design)*

Bloodworm- well its nice to see a hivewing that wants to help.

*the whole group flies westward under the cover of darkness, the only thing you all seem to hear are your wing beats and the ocean waves below threatening to swallow you up. So far no incidents. Swallowtail is trying to stay calm while being carried over the sea*

Rose: are you alright?

Swallowtail: it would be nice to see. All my senses are telling me to rip the blindfold off and extend my wings, but I shouldn’t.

Rose: hang in there Swallowtail, hopefully we’ll be on land again shortly.

Maple: Ivy, do you still have the book?

Ivy: of course. *she reduced her speed to pull the book out and caught up again, she held it with a tight grip that almost ripped the pages. She held the map out* We’ve got a long way to go!

Sumac: I didn’t think this would be that far…

Jade: maybe we should bank that way and do this in two flights * she points south*

Pipevine; I think that will work.

*Ivy shakes her head*

Ivy: less distance to cover if we fly straight there.

Sumac: I agree with Ivy, we’ll be able to rest for a while once we get there.

Bloodowrm- we should continue going straight there.

Pipevine: alright

*Ivy carefully closes the book and puts it back in her bag so she doesn’t lose it*

Maple: so what happened between you and Rose, Ivy?

Ivy: she was worried about me being in Pyrrhia for a year. *her words were ripped away by the wind, Maple barely heard her, Swallowtail didn’t hear her at all, he was focused on trying to keep himself calm*

Rose: you know nothing we said was supposed to be a secret right?

*Ivy nodded*

Jade: the wind’s picking up.

Autumn: we should be careful.

Bloodworm- yeah the wind is getting stronger.

Ivy: keep flying.

*you were over halfway there, the wing picked up for a little while but it was starting to slow down again*

Pipevine: … I just thought about something, the hivewings never really searched the caves, and Swallowtail’s the first incident I’ve heard of where they were actually in the caves. It might have been safer to stay there.

Ivy: now you tell me.

Sumac: that definitely would have been helpful before we decided to leave.

Swallowtail: I need light to be able to make the cure.

Jade: I have flamesilk.

Swallowtail: you do?

Maple: that’s right, we never told you.

Swallowtail: that’s cool. I’ve never met a flamesilk silkwing before.

Bloodworm- yeah...I've always wondered how that is possible but its really cool.

Ivy: that would have been great to know.

Sumac: you expect us to tell you everything?

Ivy: well Swallowtail seemed kind of important after I attacked him. And this definitely would have been vital information back when we first decided to come here. *she sounds annoyed. This could have helped in deciding whether to stay in the caves or not, but now here they are flying over the ocean, not knowing where they are exactly*

Maple: that is genuinely our fault that we never told you, or Sumac for that matter. We didn’t think any of this would be important so soon.

*Ivy just looked angry at this point, she flies ahead of the group, she doesn’t want to talk to anyone*

Jade; no wonder she didn’t notice, I still have my silk glands covered.

Swallowtail: so you guys told your friend nothing?

Maple: no. *she looked guilty, Sumac did not*

Rose: why not?

Maple: I didn’t think any of this would be important so soon, and I thought she would notice Jade’s flamesilk sooner. Sumac didn’t know anything about Swallowtail either. Let me go talk to her.

Sumac: she was gone for a year. We didn’t know what happened to her.

Rose: there is something more to this that you guys aren’t telling me and something Ivy keeps avoiding. What happened before she was left our continent?

Sumac: n-nothing. Just a couple of missions and she was gone. We thought she betrayed the tribe or got captured.

Rose: she would never do anything like that and you know it.

Autumn: can we talk about something happy to help keep me distracted and in the air? My wings are getting tired.

Pipevine: I think we should save this for later and not kill each other right now.

Bloodworm- good idea pipevine.

Rose: .. you’re right, I’ll save it for when we land. *she sighs, she’s starting to look angry* Ivy isn’t telling me something, that’s all I know.

Swallowtail: relax, it’s ok. It sounds like she hasn’t seen you for several years. She may be reluctant to tell you about some things.

*Ivy and Maple were now talking up front, you couldn’t hear much of what they were saying*

Bloodworm- hmmm...

Autumn: Ivy, I’m ready

Jade: I guess I am.

???: … Jade is that you?

Jade: huh…? Wait.. *she was about to say his name but she was interrupted*

Sumac: you two know each other as well?

Jade: yeah… I.. um.. we know each other from school.. *she laughed weakly, she was clearly embarrassed*

Bloodworm- well this got more interesting

Maple: so what’s his name?

???: my name is Pipevine. (Changed from Skipper to Pipevine)

Rose: and you two are friends?

Pipevine: yeah, I was worried about you after you didn’t come back to the hives.

Jade: I couldn’t anyway.. they would have taken me. *she shows him her flamesilk*

Bloodworm- well it's nice to meet you pipevine

Pipevine: it’s nice to meet you too. *he and Jade hug each other* Swallowtail, thank you again for saving her from the hivewings. *forgetting you guys plugged his ears, he didn’t hear him*

*Autumn and Maple walked over to him. Maple shook him awake and Autumn uncovered his ears*

Swallowtail: it’s decided then?

Maple: yeah. We’re going to take you somewhere safe before we get the supplies.

Bloodworm- *smiles* it's nice to see a hivewing that wants to help.

Ivy: let’s move out everyone. We’re losing moonlight.

Pipevine: yeah, it’s almost midnight. I’m not sure if Queen Wasp will rest knowing *Swallowtail covered his ears again* there is a whole group of dragons that’s still on the continent evading her mind control. *Maple tapped Swallowtail again and he uncovered his ears*

*as you all make your way to the cave exit, Ivy was held back by her mother, you decide whether or not you want to eavesdrop on the conversation*

Maple: so.. besides that, how are things here?

Swallowtail: everything’s worse. Patrols fly above us more frequently and they’re hoping to catch dragons that escaped hiding in the savannah or hunting.

Pipevine: yeah, he was doing the hunting for us. He probably knows more about the surface than I do.

Bloodworm- *eavesdrop on Ivy and her mothers conversation*

Rose: … you have no idea how happy I am you are safe. *the mother and dragonet hug each other*

Ivy: *she wasn’t sure how her mother would react to her getting exiled, or her killing a lot of hivewings, so she didn’t mention anything* I’ve missed you so much..

Rose: we have a lot of catching up to do, you said there were 7 other tribes on the other continent?

Ivy: *she nodded*

Rose: that sounds chaotic, but wonderful. I hope you were safe there.

Ivy: I was.

Bloodworm- *faintly smiles*

Rose: yeah, he wants to try to make a cure for the Breath of Evil. We planned on finding a safe space to hide first while we try to make one.

Bloodworm- ...what if there is no cure?

Swallowtail: well, the only way to find out is to try. Better we try something than sitting around hiding for the rest of our lives.

Ivy: … I surprised to hear myself say this to a Hivewing, but I like your thinking.

Rose: *stern tone of voice but whispering to Ivy* Ivy, don’t be rude.

Swallowtail: the first step is to find a safe space for all of the materials we need, then we can go steal them from the hives.

Maple: .. you know what, we could have several groups. Some of us can find survivors and attempt to get them to *Swallowtail tried to cover his ears, but it was too late* Pyhrria. *realizing she just said that in front of Swallowtail while he could hear* oh no…

Swallowtail: … I think we’re ok. Keep going.

Maple: the others could steal lab equipment from the hives as long as no Breath of Evil is burning in them.

Rose: I heard Bloodworm hive burnt down.. or was that Yellowjacket..? Either way, it might be a good place to start looking for equipment since no dragon should be there right now.

Bloodwrom- that is a good idea.

Rose: I do agree we will need a safe space where we can try to engineer this cure.

*Swallowtail puts his blindfold back on while Ivy pulls out a book containing a map of Pantala from her bag*

Rose: where did you get that? *not angry, but genuinely confused*

Ivy: *she definitely wasn’t ready to tell her mother that she had gotten exiled for Rose’s disappearance. She also was looking back at Swallowtail. She didn’t want to scare away help* I uh… it’s not important. *you thought you saw some blood on the cover but it was hard to tell. She opens it up to the map* so maybe somewhere over here? *she points to the outer islands on the tail.*

Autumn: *she taps Swallowtail’s ears as a way of telling him to cover them. He covers his ears* maybe if there aren’t any hurricanes soon.

???: it’s a risk, but they definitely won’t be searching over there.

Bloodworm- definitely

Rose: I like it. I’ll figure out a way to survive the hurricanes incase it takes a few years.

Autumn: it can’t take that long. I know it sounds irrational, but Queen Wasp will probably only need a few months, if that, to get everything organized. We might be stopped from entering the hives, so whatever we grab, it better be something to last us decades. Maybe we can bring a few regular plant seeds with us and use the fish in the ocean for food.

*Swallowtail uncovers his ears after Autumn taps him again*

Swallowtail; hmm?

Sumac: Hivewing, how long will it take you to come up with some “cure” to the breath of evil?

Swallowtail; depends on how lucky we are. If we get it right immediately. I the process of making the cure could take anywhere between a few weeks and as long as we live. If we do find one, might need more time to figure out if said cure is safe for dragons as it might not only kill the plant, it could kill us.

???: uh.. dragon please?

Swallowtail: essentially, it could take a while, it might not. We might never find it, who knows. I think it’s our best chance besides waiting around for Wasp to die.

Sumac: for once, I agree with a Hivewing. As much as I want to kill Wasp right now, that’s going to get us nowhere since we’ll all get caught if we tried that, and waiting around for her to die isn’t great either. I think your idea might be one of our only chances to stop her.

Ivy: I can’t help but feel like there is something more to this “Breath of Evil” thing though. *Ivy was trying to remember something but couldn’t quite put her talon on it.*

Bloodworm- yeah there feels like there's more to it...nott just queen wasps but something about the plan.

Swallowtail: I assume you mean my plan?

*Pipevine showed you guys where the cave he saw was, Autumn and Maple guided Swallowtail. The entrance looks just big enough for a dragon to fit through. You can’t see inside that much. Jade throws some of her flamesilk in to illuminate the inside, and it appears to be larger than expected. If you cleared out the front, it’s possible that it could continue on to fit the whole group, even Rose*

Sumac: I didn’t expect there to be a cave here.

Rose: that’s almost perfect.

Bloodworm- this is a great cave.

*pipevine investigates the cave further, and Jade follows*

Jade: we’ll be right back.

Autumn: don’t get trapped or lost in there.

Bloodworm- dont go too far.

*Jade nods, she goes further in*

*Pipevine and Jade are there for a little while. You all discussed plans on what to do once you got to the hive you were raiding, except swallowtail, who kept his distance to make sure Wasp didn’t hear anything. Just as Ivy was about to go check on them, they came out. It turned out the cave was much larger than they had previously thought, the only tight part was getting through the entrance, You had to move part of it away for Rose to get through*

Jade: it gets tight in the entrance.. but it should fit all of us.

Pipevine: and more, it’s like this is pet of another cave system.

Bloodworm- huh interesting.

Pipeline: I think we’ll hide in there when patrols fly by, so sorry if you don’t see us when we return.

Sumac: good work silkwing. Rose and I can clear out part of the entrance when we get back.

Jade: alright, so are you guys ready to go? You have a plan?

Ivy: we hope so.

Bloodworm- only one way to find out.

Ivy: alright, let’s go. Let’s see if we can find something that we can grow here for food while we’re raiding the hive.

Rose: hopefully some fresh water as well.

Rose: where did you get the book then, we never had anything like that at the camp.

Ivy: … I may have ventured out to one of the hives and spied on them. I didn’t get caught, and I stole the book. I figured I might as well have a proper map. *”wait that sounds much worse.. maybe I should backtrack that”*

Rose: Ivy, you shouldn’t have put yourself in danger like that.

Ivy: I know. It was jewel hive so I just walked around with a cape.

Rose: … you’re lucky I’ve been to jewel hive. *looks like she figured out Ivy was lying about everything* Mine and your father’s information were probably very useful. *guess not*

Ivy: yeah, you guys had some good hiding spots.

Rose: we better catch up before they leave without us. *they begin walking towards the way you and the others should have gone*

Bloodworm- hmm interesting.

*Rose rushes passed you*

Rose: come on Bloodworm. *thinking: “that was embarrassing, he probably overheard. He also probably doesn’t think I know something isn’t right with Ivy.”*

Ivy: huh..? You were here? The whole time? *she looked shocked, confused, and all sorts of embarrassed, even a little angry*

Bloodworm- oh uh yeah...

Ivy: *she grumbles, seriously annoyed that someone had just saw her lie to her mother. Even worse that it was a Hivewing who saw her acting the way she did. But she couldn’t do anything about that right now* argh.. come on, we have to catch up. *her expression returned to her fierce determination she had when she first left Pyrrhia.*

Bloodworm- alright then.

*the three of you rush to join the group, who was now waiting at the cave entrance*

Swallowtail: we’re going over water?

Maple: yep.

Rose: I’ll carry you, just don’t hurt me too much.

Swallowtail: I’ll try not to.

*Autumn looks down at the ocean, then back up to the surrounding cliffside, there was Jewel Hive, way in the distance north of you. She looks back again at her wings, clearly afraid to fly over water again, despite crossing the ocean twice after not having them that long*

Jade: Autumn, you’ll be alright.

Pipevine: is this your sister?

Jade: yes.

Pipevine: … looks pretty scary out there. But hey, you’ve flown across the ocean, right?

Autumn: twice now..

Pipevine: should be a walk in the park compared to that.

Autumn: at least we did it during the day…

Pipevine: don’t worry. I know you can do it.

Jade: we’ve done it twice, we can do it again.

Rose: I don’t suggest tiring yourselves out from flying. In that case, we should rest when we get there before we make the return trip to find supplies.

Swallowtail: I still have the seeds I stole from the greenhouse, we can use them as a good source if we have to.

Bloodworm- dont worry Autumn you will be fine.

Rose: you’ve flown more than me these past few years. I think you’re going to be okay, if not, I’ll catch you if you fall. I can carry two of you.

Autumn: … thanks guys.

*you wait a day, Swallowtail tells you not to tell him where you all decide to go to steal lab equipment. You’ll tell him you’re going to the ruins of Bloodworm hive.*

Rose: we can agree that there isn’t much actually going to be at bloodworm, right?

Sumac: sneaking into the hives is already dangerous enough.

Autumn: and we tried so hard just to leave it.

*Swallowtail was sleeping with his ear’s plugged now*

Jade; we could try Mantis hive or Cicada hive. They’re close enough we could reach them fairly easily.

???: yeah, Cicada might be easy to break into and escape, though I’m not sure how good they’re equipment is. Bloodworm I know used to have good quality lab equipment, and Mantis hive is a 50/50 as well.

Autumn: guess we’re going to have to wing it.

Maple: guess so.

Ivy: … you guys know more than me. I was AWOL for a year.

Rose; what do you mean you were gone? *that stern expression of hers came back, and Sumac, Maple, and Ivy began looking at each other, then they all looked away, none of them wanted to be the one to tell the truth to Rose*

Ivy: it’s a long story..

Maple: yeah, some strangers passed by on an iceberg while she was on the coast and she joined them. She was in a Pyhrria for nearly a year.

Ivy: I wanted to scout out the new continent to see if it was a suitable place for us to flee to if a situation like this were to occur.

Sumac: well, you were a bit late.

Ivy: I never had a chance to return. I met the group that escaped in the deserts of the Sandwing Kingdom. *she waited for Rose’s response*

Rose: .. I like the thought, but you should have asked Belladonna for permission.

Ivy: *coming up with a good lie* t-there wasn’t time. I needed to choose what to do then. If I waited, the iceberg would have drifted away and have been too far gone.

*Rose takes a deep breath*

Rose: … that’s acceptable. I’m straying too far off topic, I’ve been worried about you Ivy. *she puts her paw on Ivy’s head* you poor dragonet getting lost on another continent.

Ivy: [well that could have gone worse. I don’t think I want to find out how she’ll react that I was in exile for pretty much the whole time that she was stuck in the caves] I’m okay. So which hive are we “raiding?”

Maple: Mantis hive looks like a good place. It’s far from Wasp hive.

Autumn: we won’t be able to lead you through it, none of us have been there.

*Maple looks at Swallowtail*

Maple: I know someone who can. Bloodworm, have you been to Mantis hive?

Bloodworm- yeah I have but only a few times.

Maple: that makes two dragons I know who can.

Sumac: it might be better if we leave Swallowtail where we decide to hide so he doesn’t give us away if he’s controlled.

Jade: yeah, that’s probably the first thing she was thinking.

Bloodworm- makes sense. Maple thinks ahead.

Sumac: alright, give me credit for something.

Maple: I actually was thinking of that, that’s why I asked Bloodworm if he knew his way around Mantis Hive. Thanks for saying it for me though.

???: so we’re headed to Mantis?

Ivy: I guess so.

Bloodworm- alright then its settled i guess

Maple: after we get Swallowtail to a safe location first.

Sumac: yeah, it wouldn’t work that well if we took him with us.

Bloodworm- makes sense

Ivy: so we agreed on raiding Mantis hive?

Maple: yes, but we’ll need someone to lead us while the others stay here and keep Swallowtail under control.

Sumac: leave that to the silkwings I guess. Well fair better in a fight.

Maple: Jade did a good job fighting for herself that one time.

Sumac: if you count being knocked out as good, then yes.

Bloodworm- I think the silkwings will do just fine, they are very responsible dragons.

Maple: yes, but they might be better off here.

Rose: we need either Autumn or Ivy to stay here. They’re able to subdue Swallowtail before he hurts himself too badly and a low time for everyone else to react.

Ivy: I’m coming with you, I think Autumn has expressed she’s tired from flying, she still hasn’t moved since last night.

Sumac: then it’s decided, the silkwings should stay here.

Ivy: flamesilk could be useful.

Sumac: sure, let’s burn the hives while we’re in them, what a great strategy.

Ivy: if an infected dragon is chasing us, what would you do?

Sumac: fair point.

Maple: wait, we need someone to lead us through the hive.

Rose: and we can’t have Swallowtail do that, Wasp will just send soldiers to our positions, we might get infected.

Bloodworm- I can help you guys, I know a little bit about each hive and where to go.

Maple: you said that in the cave, I think you’re our best chance.

Rose: I agree, we’ll need your help getting through the cave.

Bloodworm- Alright then.

Rose: when should we leave?

Pipevine: *he had run over* what’s the meeting about guys?

Sumac; you, Jade and Autumn are going to watch Swallowtail, and I think rose should stay here too. You’re an adult and you’ll be spotted easier.

Ivy: if my mother was able to sneak into the hives when she was much larger than you she can sneak into another one.

Rose: he’s right Ivy, in this scenario it may be impractical for me to go unless we’re carrying something heavy.

Maple: that’s why I think you should come, we’ll get a supplies list from Swallowtail first.

*Ivy walks over to Swallowtail and asked for a list of what he might need if he was going to try to find a cure. Luckily for everyone, Ivy had also brought a writing utensil from Pyrrhia and ink if it was needed. Ivy flipped the book she got off a Hivewing she killed to a blank page, then Swallowtail slowly lifted his blindfold up and began to write*

Ivy: … I don’t even know what half this stuff is.

Swallowtail: there should be labels on most of the containers with chemicals or samples. *he handed the book back to Ivy* Some things on there aren’t needed, but might be good for optimal results.

Ivy: … thanks.

Swallowtail: any time. *he drew his blindfold over his eyes again*

Bloodworm- whats on the list?

Pipevine: what’s your plan for making a cure Swallowtail?

Swallowtail: try random substances and hope one of them is able to kill a spore. I really do not have a lot of information about this plant.

Autumn: you have no plan?!

Swallowtail: other than what I’ve already deciding I’m testing against it, no. Even then, I don’t know how quickly the plant adapts as this virus like disease. I know very little besides how it behaves inside us. What kills it? Would whatever kills it be safe for dragons? There are all kinds of questions, with luck my educated guess could work.

Bloodworm- thats extremely risky swallowtail...

Swallowtail: I know, but it’s better than nothing at all. I have to try.

Sumac: I have to agree, this is going to be dangerous.

Swallowtail: everything we do is dangerous.

Jade: this conversation’s going in circles.

Autumn: … I have to say, if any of us are going to develop a cure, it’s probably you. I believe you can do it eventually, but my concern is you may hurt yourself.

Swallowtail: sure they’ll be set backs. Again, we don’t know if there is a cure at all. I’m gonna give it my best shot.

Bloodworm- may the odds be in your favor Swallowtail.

Swallowtail: I’ll need all the luck I can get *he chuckles*

*you begin to descend, you finally land on one one of the islands on the outskirts of dragonfly bay*

Sumac: finally, dry land.

Autumn: don’t make me fly back again. *her wings ached, she could barely tuck them in without feeling pain, she lied down immediately*

Jade: rest with your wings out. It might help.

Autumn: maybe that’s a better idea.

*Ivy was sitting away from everyone else, and moved further away when her mother tried to approach her, Maple tried as well but was told to go away. Maple respected Ivy’s request*

Pipevine: is she alright?

Maple: I think she wants time to herself to calm down.

Bloodworm- makes sense...

*you notice swallowtail isn’t with the group, and so does Rose, Autumn, and Maple*

Maple: oh no, Ivy might hurt him. *she sees him slowly walking towards Ivy, occasionally veering to the wrong direction and stopping, she tries to stop him*

Ivy heard someone walking behind her. It sounded like cautious footsteps. It’s probably Maple again. Ivy knew she was worried about her.

“I thought I said to go away.”

“You didn’t tell me.”

That was was Swallowtail! Why was that blasted Hivewing here? His footsteps sounded more sure this time with him following the sound of her voice. They began to get more cautious again as he got near her though.

“That applies to you you know.”

“You sound a little bummed out and your friends are worried about you.”

“Can you just leave me alone?”

“… maybe you should talk about it with someone, it can make you feel better.”

Actually she did want to talk about it. But she wasn’t sure how to explain it. It was mostly the thought of having to explain how she was exiled to her mother, but she was upset with Maple for not telling her everything.

“Well, I guess I— AAH”

The Hivewing stepped on her tail on accident and he tripped, landing next to her.

“Are you ok?! I’m so sorry.”

Ivy ended up laughing, out of the corner of her eye, she saw Maple running towards them.

“Well, I’m angry that no one’s telling me anything. I can’t help if I have no idea what’s going on. I’m just feeling frustrated with everything.” She sighed, “not only that, seeing my mother for the first time after I thought she was dead.. was a little overwhelming. I have to stay cautious incase she’s infected.”

“You don’t have anything to worry about there, she’s ok in that respect.”

Maple sat down next to her.

“I’m sorry Ivy, I couldn’t stop him in time, I—“

“You don’t need to apologize Maple. I actually needed to talk to you, but I turned you away. I’m sorry for that.” Ivy genuinely felt bad it took this Hivewing to get her to realize she needed to talk to someone.

Bloodworm- *watched from afar*

(Aspect*)

Swallowtail asked, “What happened between you and your mother?”

Ivy wasn’t sure how to answer, she paused for a moment, then told him everything. Everything from spying on the hive to nearly getting caught and killed to being told to run. She even said that she was exiled. She almost began to cry

“By the book, I’ve never heard of a crazier story. I’m so sorry for asking,” Swallowtail said.

“It’s all in the past, nothing I could do about it. I took out my anger on every Hivewing that dared enter the jungle that I could reach. I’ve lost count of how many I killed out of revenge for everything.”

This made Swallowtail shift uncomfortably. Ivy realized what she said might not have been the best thing to say.

“So that’s why there was a sharp decrease in expeditions,” Maple said amazed. “But that still isn’t great, you shouldn’t have killed them. You should have let us handle them and kept yourself safe.”

“I wanted to protect the rest of you and I was acting on revenge. But I agree, I was starting to regret all that a while ago. I can’t change that now, but I can change how I act in the future.”

“You should have never been exiled, Ivy. You were clearly in distress when you came back.”

“Again, nothing we can do about it now.”

Ivy stood up and turned around, it was Sumac. This didn’t make sense, he’s always hated her.

“Ivy, I know no amount of apologies could ever fix what I did. I’m sorry about getting you exiled, it was ignorant of me to do so.”

“It’s not exactly forgivable, nor is all that other stuff you normally said about hybrids in the past, but I’m willing to forget about it. Best I could do is move on. I know you started the rumor but it was ultimately up to the elders. It’s not completely your fault, but you did start it.”

“SUMAC!” Yep, Rose overheard. And she was now standing right behind all of them. She already had paralyzed him with her glare.

“That’s the thing, I heard it from someone else. I don’t remember who but I asked a group of dragons whether they believed it or not, that’s what started it,” he said quickly, he actually sounded serious. It didn’t matter, Rose was already right behind him.

“Mom..?”

“Why did you decide to lie instead of telling me?!” She was now glaring at Ivy.

“Well, I didn’t know if you were infected and I didn’t know how you would react,” she said quickly. She had never seen her mother this angry before.

Swallowtail: oh.. plant. Yeah, um… I don’t know.

Maple: we wouldn’t know much since we were in Pyhrria.

Bloodworm- yeah

Rose: I did notice when I was walking through an area with a ravine, there were some vine like plants that were growing. I didn’t stay too long. I advise staying away from the area.

Autumn: noted.

Bloodworm- alright then.

???: should be nightfall now. Come on, this is our only chance to travel outside the caves.

Jade: *starting to recognize his voice, she still doesn’t talk yet*

Maple: let’s go.

Swallowtail: I’ll need to keep my blindfold on, I can’t see where I’m going.

Rose: I’ll carry you. Just don’t paralyze me or anything.

Swallowtail: I don’t have stingers.

Bloodworm- really?

Swallowtail: nope. Nothing. Born without em, at least I think I was.

Maple: huh..

Swallowtail: I’ve never used em if I had them, which probably means I never had them in the first place. Anyways this doesn’t matter.

Ivy: I agree.

Bloodworm- alright then.

Sumac: well, if we’re leaving, we better do it now.

Autumn: my wings are so tired.. *she was the only one there who had new wings and not much experience flying*

Rose: maybe let’s wait another day so this silkwing hybrid can recover. We can go over where we will look for lab equipment first.

Bloodwrom- works for me.

Ivy: a lot of stuff I don’t understand.

*Autumn had gotten and walked over, she read the list over Ivy’s shoulder*

Autumn: a lot of these are some of the chemicals some schools have in their labs. Swallowtail: I don’t think any of these will work, considering they’ve been deemed safe for school work.

Swallowtail: you’re probably right, but that’s what I could remember off the top of my head.

Maple: so none of these will work?

Autumn: probably not, at the very least we can break into the hives for normal supplies.

Ivy: that would defeat the whole purpose of coming over here.

Swallowtail: it’s worth a shot, most of those you could get your talons on pretty easily, just one you might need to break into a warehouse if you needed to.

Bloodworm- sounds easy enough.

Ivy; you have an idea on where these would be?

Swallowtail: it’s different for each hive since all of the ladies of the hives have their own way of organizing things. The only way to know is to have someone know which hive you’re going to that can guide you, and that’s not exactly possible since I can’t go with you, Bloodworm might know the way.

Maple: great. Well, you said most of this stuff we should be able to find in schools?

Swallowtail: depends on the hive, but yet, probably. It would need to be a good school, not a silkwing school. Silkwing schools tend to be underfunded.

Bloodworm- sounds easy enough.

Ivy: should we still do it?

Autumn; I don’t know. Most of the medicine we have comes from plants, and we don’t have much. Remember, this can’t be toxic to dragons but still kill the plant. I didn’t think you would believe in alchemy.

Swallowtail: the living forever and turning rocks into gold stuff? No, that’s a bunch of nonsense. But there is some stuff that is good. I just need to figure out how to stop infections like this epidemic in the hivewings right now.

Maple: are you sure you aren’t out of your depth here?

Swallowtail: I’m way out of my depth.

*Sumac had walked over*

Sumac: this all started with Queen Wasp right?

Swallowtail: I believe so.

Sumac: then let’s kill her. There’s no reason to steal a bunch of stuff we probably don’t know how to use. It should end with her dead.

Swallowtail: I’m not so sure about that, this is just to be safe.

Rose: I hope this isn’t a dead end and we’re risking our lives for nothing.

Swallowtail: well, we’ll need some of the stuff on there anyway. Some stuff on the list is just food containers of clean water. There doesn’t appear to be a fresh water source near us by the sound of the crashing waves. Someone would need to steal stuff eventually.

Bloodworm- Swallowtail has a point.

Ivy: I should have thought of that before coming out here.

Swallowtail: are there any caves for us to hide in for now?

Maple: not that I’ve discovered, no.

Pipevine: I saw one, but it looks small, I think we could fit ourselves into it if we tried but it’s probably more trouble than it’s worth.

Swallowtail: so we have no cover?

Jade: not much, unless the cave goes further than we expected it too.

Bloodowrm- yeah, there is only one way to find out you know.

Pipevine: I know, just what if we can’t get back up?

Jade: we could move something beforehand to make it easier to climb in and out, Queen Wasp won’t know the difference because Swallowtail’s blindfolded still.

Swallowtail: that’s if nothing needs to be broken off or anything. If it’s obvious you broke part of the cave roof, she might search it. Then again, I don’t think she’s searched any of the caves much.

Maple: let’s give it a try while we’re all here to help each other.

Bloodworm- yeah.
