They were Punk Rock before there was Punk Rock, and we wouldn't have had the Sex Pistols (McLaren originally modeled them after the Dolls, and Sylvain Sylvain was supposed to be their singer), Kiss, Red Kross, and that entire 80s LA Hair Band/Glam scene, and Punk would have been way different if it wasn't for them, if the scene picked up at all. That's right, no Crue nor Poison nor WASP and a gazillion others would never have ever even existed.

Plus the significance of those bands outside of their niche scenes is questionable, as most folks outside of their fandom haven't even heard of them.

She was an insult even to Disco, and forget Rock. When I heard that, I totally tuned out to that Sham of Fame.

Hell, Nirvana's in, but the Pixies aren't, even though the Pixies spawned a whole generation of bands, including Nirvana. Why can't the hall recognize actual deserving bands?

The DKs records were put out by a 'subisidiary' of a 'subisidiary' of major label because they had potential commercial appeal. Where's Flipper? Where's Bad Posture? Where's the Germs? Flesh Eaters? X? Not even Black Flag? Minor Threat? Bad Brains?

eh, Bad Posture was pretty small, not well known in the HC scene either. I just like them. The Flesh Eaters not as well known as they should have been, although their earlier stuff was the best.
