I was part of the 0.0015 million who got a flu in 2020. I got a cold in 2021. In 2022 I got COVID. I got a mild version of COVID but I could tell the difference between it, a flu and a cold. With COVID I had a fever for 2 1/2 days. After that was over I was pretty much back to normal except for about a week everything tasted awful.
I figured when you engineer a new hybrid virus out of a virus found in bat guano and combine it with the common cold virus the result is that when you get infected by that hybrid, everything tastes like bat guano or at least what I would guess bat guano tasted like. The only positive effect is that I lost weight because who wants to eat when everything tastes like bat crap.
