Communism is nice on paper, but fails in the real world. It lacks checks and balances of the ruling party. Democrat Socialism on the other hand has a strong record of actually benefitting its citizens while still valuing capitalism, but with a strong leash.

Social democracy may sound like a good idea in theory, but capitalists can always retaliate against making the populace less exploitable through stuff like capital strikes. And since that system still respects private property, the countries that practice the system have no choice but to either obey the capitalists face economic downturn, like what happened two years into François Mitterrand’s presidency. Plus a lot of social democracies were imperial empires, such and Britain and France, which is how they fund their welfare programs. And even socdem countries that weren’t benefit from unequal exchange, like Sweden or Norway.

Also communism has the people to be the checks and balances of the ruling party. Unlike what happens under any form of capitalism, consent for a party to rule can’t be manufactured by private news corporations under communism, nor can the bourgeoisie favor certain political parties by funding them.

So how has the people checked the balance of China? How about North Korea?

Again, good on paper, lousy in practice. And Social Democratic countries have proven record of being better places to live.

If those countries were ruled under bad parties, they would be immediately removed by the people. North Korea, despite literally having almost all of its infrastructure blown up and a quarter of its population killed in the mid 20th century, is still doing surprisingly well given its circumstances thanks to the Workers' Party of Korea. And I think you’re forgetting that China literally transformed from an agrarian backwater to the world’s second largest superpower in less than a century. Not exactly the countries you’d want to list for your argument.

And you are leaving out how they police their citizens. No one in North Korea has any rights and in China (been there) The government owns everything. Uprising by the people are crushed. Hong Kong, Tiana men Square ring any bells? If not, you are just as bad as the yahoo's on the other political streams that have their heads up each other's asses, refusing to admit the evil they support.

Oh boo fuсking hoo, the see pee pee banned the NED from backing riots and terrorists in Hong Kong. How totalitarian.

As for Tiananmen Square, here’s something that’s conveniently left out of the public eye by the U.S. government: https://web.archive.org/web/20230315121755/https://wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/89BEIJING18828_a.html

It’s also really convenient that you don’t mention anything about how the DPRK supposedly polices its citizens because, you know, they don’t.

And by your logic that “if you support communism then you support evil because evil happened in communism!!” then since you support social democracy, you support imperialism done by the British, French, and Dutch Empire used to fund their welfare programs and unequal exchange done by the Nordic countries.
