A Cat Guy's Way Of Thinking

TRUTH!!! 😹

I know, I had to get mine a pet placemat. 😺 But he's been known to turn that over too. I think they just want to make sure you're paying attention. 😸

She doesn’t want as much attention as she gets when I see her mess, lol 😸
Her bowl is on a rubber placemat, which is set on a throw rug. She’ll get food in her mouth and walk out of the room and settle on the shag carpet, ugh. Now that I’m thinking about it, maybe I should put her placemat on a scrap of shag carpet??? You got me thinking :-)

Did it work? I'm sure she doesn't know better. 😸
I just vacuum his mat regularly, he seems to be happy with that. Although one time he flipped his mat over with his dish on it. So I guess mine like to see me clean up after him too. lol 😺 Oh and the other day, somehow some of his food ended up on the balcony, don't ask me how he managed that. :)

I love his mat! I can imagine how happy he is when he’s on it.
I haven’t had the chance to try a piece of shag carpet, but I was thinking about sometimes if you give her a piece of ham or chicken, she sometimes carries it away several feet before eating it. I’m wondering if it’s because of a defense mechanism rather than preferring a different surface because she’s still in the kitchen in those instances?

Lol When he's on the balcony usually he's bird watching, or relaxing in one of his spots, so when he's on the balcony he just might be leading a double life. 😸
Maybe the piece of food just went there with him, and if he needed just a bite of food later he had it there. I saw him eat it so... 😺
You might want to try putting the scraps you're giving her on a paper towel. Just an idea, it usually works for me with him. And did you ever think that the cat wants to eat in private, not where everybody can watch her? Cat's have such funny personalities. :)

As far as the paper towel, it’s usually presented that way, but she promptly removes it and places it on the floor, ugh, then she might scurry off a few feet and eat it there. She also has a small treat bowl in the kitchen that gifts from the table are placed in. She removes them and drops them on the floor also. It could be a privacy thing as you mentioned, especially when she walks a couple feet away. Her regular food bowl is in the laundry room and the machines aren’t running very often, but she usually has the place to herself. She seems to be programmed into thinking other cats are around and will take her food.
Luckily she doesn’t do anything destructive :-)

He does like the balcony, especially in the early morning for his bird watching. 😺👀🦆
Have you tried putting her treat bowl into the laundry room to give her privacy while snacking?
Mines the same way, he eats in the bathroom now, instead of on the balcony because of all of the development and dust. But he likes privacy when he eats too, and lets me know when he can see the bottom of the dry food dish. :)
Cats do seem to be quirky, I had to change the place he gets his nails done, and he was protesting. but it was the first time so I'm sure he'll get used to it. He likes everything where it normally is, and isn't to fond of change. But he really is a good kitty. :)

Never tried putting the treat bowl in the laundry room, but she makes a mess with her food bowl and it is in the laundry room. She’s a mess, but a very sweet mess 😻
I just gave her a small piece of a meatball that she had to have. It was on a full size paper towel and she picked up the food and placed it on the floor to eat.
It’s good that Mr. Tuxedo got out of the dust. I’m sure he’ll adjust to the new nail trimmers. How funny that he likes things left alone, lol 😹

Nothing I'd say out of the normal. Although I've been really busy. :)
And he was no more cooperative today than on Friday. But I found another place where the groomer is a family member of a city council member, so I'll try there and see if he's any more well behaved.
I'll have to wait and see if anything's happening. But I know the city council doesn't like when I speak. But oh well...

You were right! I work second shift in Pennsylvania and went outside at lunchtime. Here was this faint, but beautiful rainbow to greet me 😻
I’m sorry the King didn’t like the new trimmer, but I’m glad to hear you already have an alternative.

Cats do have their ways, all a little messy eating, but as you said our messes.😺
That's cute that she feels the need to eat it off the floor. I guess I'm lucky there the pepperoni I gave him a piece of earlier he ate right off the napkin.
And he does not like the new nail trimmer. I took him last Friday and he wouldn't even let them take him out of the carrier. But we're going to try again later this morning. It's always an adventure, but he is such a good kitty, that we'll just work through it.
The City Council meeting will be fun tonight.

There’s been some terrible flooding and a few tornadoes over the past month or so, but it’s missed here thank God. Too close for comfort.

Cats, dogs, all animals probably do it. Although you said did, were you able to get them to stop doing it?

No I haven’t, but they started doing it when they were close to end of their tracks. About a month of two before.

I'm sorry to hear that. My cat has done it ever since he adopted me when he was four years old.
