If the moderators don't see a violation, the user won't be troubled.

It's good practice to say you've accidentally flagged the comment in reply to the flagged comment, it saves moderators the trouble of looking for the violation or a reason for the flag in the whole thread.

thank you for the education. i had already apologized to the person and posted that i accidentally flagged them in the stream. i reckon thats all there is to be done then. thanks again for the knowledge. i don't feel like such a jerk now.
