You're forgetting that the US have explicitly stated that in a nuclear war they won't target civilian infrastructure, only military targets. Russia will have had time to prepare and evacuate it's civilians and prep it's landmass to persevere.

Russia existed long before America, it'll still be there long after America is nothing but a bad memory.

Humanity will survive nuclear war no matter how bad it gets, we've survived similar events during the ice age will nothing but wolf pelts and spears. We'll survive nuclear winter - and the great powers of the NWO will fade away in the snow.

There absolutely will be survivors of a nuclear war. I highly doubt it would cause total human extinction.
Whether it's actually possible for any nation to win a nuclear war per se is a lot less certain.

Assuming there’s a nuclear war, Russia will be just as decimated as the U.S. and everyone will be in the mood for survival, not invasion. Mounting an invasion of Alaska across the Bering Strait would be difficult even under normal circumstances as Russia’s Far East is sparsely populated. Russia’s current struggles to conquer even 15% of Ukraine (much closer/easier logistically) don’t give any cause for hope.

Also: Alaskans!

Perhaps the U.S. disintegrates and Balkanizes or perhaps there’s a rally-around-the-flag effect. Who knows. It’s idle speculation.
