I thought you liberals loved Zoom. If the environment is that important to you all, can’t they meet virtually to “combat” climate change? I’m just a little pea-brained conservative trying to learn this stuff; help me out here.

They likely do! But not in every case. Pointing to the couple of times they do doesn’t negate the dozen calls they’ve likely engaged nor are they even advocating that people completely forgo all vehicle travel.

Further, as I already stated, the government, at least the US, is already working to phase out gas cars.

if people think the Arabs are angry people now…just wait until the world stops buying their crude oil and petroleum. When they have nothing else to produce or provide to the world, they’ll become irrelevant and that will lead to extreme violence in the region as natural resources and GDP’s fall. In fact there is no middle eastern country in the top 20 nations with the highest GDP. Not one.

You assume there will be zero trade in crude oil or petroleum. Forgetting that these can fuel electric power stations. They’ll likely be phased out, yes, but we’re talking dozens of decades, not years.

And before you complain about this also being against carbon emissions, the problem isn’t just emission but efficacy. There is a difference in emissions of hundreds of power stations in key locations versus billions of cars being driven every day.

I don’t complain during a political discussions because I’m an adult and not a liberal. I don’t think they’ll be phased out entirely nor do I think that it’ll happen quickly. That’s why I referenced the GDP of these middle eastern countries. A gradual decline in their GDP will lead to a long slow death for their economy. This has been the blueprint for almost every economic powerhouse’s eventual collapse.

As for the GDP of these countries,

Iran, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Qatar, and Kuwait

rank 11th, 17th, 19th, 31st, 48th, 53rd, 57th in GDP.

Afghanistan, which is not part of OPEC, but is a Middle East country, had a GDP of 20 billion, which would’ve placed it 2nd.

So there are 3, potentially 4, in the top 20 GDP.

And as I said, the impact of what vehicles run on is negligible since all that will change is how the fuel is processed.

I’ll try to explain again as there won’t be a major impact to Middle East exports if we switched from fuel to electric.

We already convert crude oil to gas.

What is actually being suggested by climate activists is taking it a step further converting gas to electric.

The cars will change, yes.

The imports/exports will not.

If they are being impacted by the climate accords, they already are. Assuming they’re even following them.

As for the cars… the nature of bureaucracy keeps them from making swift and great changes. Especially in terms of cost.

But it too is being done.
