There's been a lot of 'redefining' words last few years, 'woke' is one of them. White neo-liberals are trying to mask the fact that it was originally used to help explain that white liberals shallow compassion for African Americans was/is merely done in order to get votes and retain power.

Conservative writer Bethany Mandel defined 'Woke': "Woke is a radical and incoherent leftist belief system claiming that all disparity is a a result of discrimination. Its adherents seek an extreme redefinition of society in which false 'equity' replaces EQUALITY as the endpoint; enforced by an angry mob."
