Atheists have a blindness to how religion is an overall civilizing influence on cultures. All one has got to do to see the contrary is study what happened under the mandated by law atheistic Soviet Union and the early decades of Communist China . . . not to mention Pol Pot, Castro, and horrors et. al.

Atheism isn't always communist, but Marxism is atheistic, and more evil has been done in the name of Marxism than any one religion (except maybe Satanism, Paganism and the Aztecs).

The truth is every time a society has tried to get rid of all religion, we see it have war, slavery, genocide, oppression, abuse, rape, and more. Tyranny is possible with religion but guaranteed without it.
