Wouldnt it just be easier for him to say, he agrees with Sharia law, but use some foxy terms and trick the people?

Everything Desantis does in Florida, is done to grandstand Trump. Desantis biggest problem? He has no personality.

No chucking paper towels at hurricane victims, or catchy, simple, stupid nicknames, to put opponents down with, the ones that MAGA absolutely goes Trump bonkers with.

I had heard that DeSantis looks good on pape, but on stage he's got zero personality.

Desantis has the personality of the Grinch, lacks any sense of humor. Also, reported as unable to accept criticism, or getting along with people.

What he's is good at, is ruling as a ruthless, authoritarian dictator. A real peach of a guy.

But at least he's not hellbent on a Fascist takeover.

Yet also all that, and stances not favored by most, make him less electable, thus giving Trump a better chance...

A Desantis run in '24 is going to divide MAGA.

No doubt, Trump will go full nuke on Desantis. Possibly, splitting Republican loyalties with a pissed off Trump, forming his own separate party.

With that much choas happening within the Republicans party, the American people will take notice. Allowing Democrat's victory in '24.
My 2 cents.

As one of the only two known on the entire planet to have predicted Trump would win in 2016 (the other is someone else on this site's grandfather), I'mma have to disagree on Trump forming his own party:

1. He has neither the brains nor will to do so.
2. He's a cheap bastard who wants to milk the system, not waste $$ on it
3. It's far easier and way more cost effective to work an established working outfit like Hitler did than start from scratch.

Sure, the votes will be divided, and that's the problem - one that favors Trump.

Trump's train has been losing steam lately - no big rallies and donations aren't what they used to be.
But we got two years to repeat 2015-16. Most of 2022 I said he had a near sure shot, now, maybe not. But I wouldn't invest in the fireworks like Hillary did ust yet. Especially with Biden & the Dems doing their darndest to irritate the MAGAts with the very things that made them go for Trump in the first place.

Let's sit back and watch diaper donnie throw the mud and destroy the party.
