That is not how it works. There was a singularity (where that came from, IDK but we can know things without understanding the precise mechanism [i.e. we knew poison killed people before we knew about cells]) then it expanded and all of the collisions formed hydrogen and helium and some other things. Then the hydrogen and helium turned into stars which produced other elements. Those elements turned into the universe as we know it. Scientists are not sure how abiogenesis happened but there are some experiment-backed theories. Once life appeared it evolved according to the rules:
1) Some organisms are better suited to the environment
2) More fit organisms will reproduce more
3) There are some mutations while reproducing
4) Therefor over time life will become better suited to its environment.

there WAS something it was an intense amount of mass heat and gravity building up in an empty mass of space

now space is matter so space has always been here, now over time this mass condensed into an unbelievably hot single point in space this point then reached his "boiling point" and began expanding rapidly first at unimaginable speeds and then slowing down as the atoms cooled down and started forming gases. these gases eventually condensed with other specific atoms and formed solids like rocks space dust and ice, stars were incredibly hot and couldn't sustain life under any context so they had to cool down over what we assume is billions of years in order for it to be able to sustain life, now the stars eventually cooled down and planets started adapting to it by forming atmospheres and stratospheres and beyond this you can just watch the entire history of the world i guess on yt.

and stephen hawking also made valid points about how every religion is wrong if you're bothered to look into his research.

meanwhile we DO have sources like cavemen/neanderthals, the invention of the wheel and modern understanding increasing to the point where it's obvious evolution happened and the big bang theory is correct, original religion was based on people who didn't have any way of understanding how the world actually worked so they came to whatever conclusion was easiest for them, hence why there's many religions, it gives them comfort even though they do not understand what's actually happening. they're following a herd because they can't think outside of their own lives due to how hard life was.
