As long as the repubs keep running old white men they will be vulnerable to criticism as racist and misogynist. Strategically, running Haley undercuts the Dems ability to brand themselves as the party of the poor huddled masses. Margaret Thatcher and Indira Gandhi also were women who had to deal with the Middle East, so there is precedent. As for Trump, he seems too controversial to be able to win. Thanks for commenting!

How about we stick to what works - elect competent who know what they're doing. Skin color, sex, whatever is secondary.

There is something to be said for that, obviously. At the same time, allowing the dems to pidgeonhole repubs as the party of rich white people is a strategic error in my opinion. I'm not jumping on the Haley bandwagon just yet, but I do see her as someone with executive experience who might be a strong contender. Thanks for commenting!
