Are 'the people' really so stupid they don't realize companies like Exxon áre 'the elite' they say they hate?

I lived on the Canadian border for years. Place was absent of animals such as possum because winter weather conditions were so harsh .

Around 10 years ago , possums established a permanent residence there.

Forests that were once clean are filled with ticks, Ice freezes on lakes 2-4 weeks late.

Anyone who has a basic understanding of nature can see the changes occurring at warp speed..

Human greed over common sense

It's sad as well as really stupid ánd dangerous to believe in 'Big Oil' paid conspiracies and not in actual science. I just can't believe how stupid so many people are. You know the narrative 'Yeah, but more CO2 is good for nature!'? Thought up and spread by Frits Böttcher, a man who was once a member of the Club from Rome but accepted millions from the (Dutch) oil- and coal industry (Shell and the likes) and chemistry giants like Akzo Nobel to form a world wide group of climate change deniers in the mid 90s. And highly successful: people as well as governments started to doubt 'climate predictions based on science' and many politicians accepted jobs at environment ruining companies after their political careers. A former Dutch Prime Minister started working for Shell, a Minister of Traffic became president of KLM, et cetera. As Rutger Bregman said: 'We live in a world in which a dead tree is worth more money than a living one. That needs to change.'
