There are always alternatives but many of the world's governments are stuck on forcing it's citizens to use electric cars. All the while cutting out all forms of electrical productions except for wind and solar.
Some countries are allowing hydrogen cars like Australia and South Korea.
This is why leftist politicians should never ever be allowed to serve in public office. They are dumber than a mud fence. Either that or (and this is more probable) they just do not care about mankind and if your life sucks, then they are always ready to make it suck even more.
The left calls this progress.
I guess it will soon be time to buy yourself a horse and buggy. On second thought they will stop that because horse farts will be blamed for climate change. And you cannot have a bicycle because the seats, tires, lubrication and other miscellaneous parts are made from petroleum. You can't have shoes because they are made from either killing cute animals or petroleum or both, so walking is out.
