Montana Republicans are calling for aggressive action from President Biden regarding the suspected Chinese spy balloon spotted over the Big Sky State, home to one of the three nuclear missile silo fields in the U.S.

"Shoot. It. Down. The Chinese spy balloon is clear provocation. In Montana we do not bow. We shoot it down. Take the shot," Rep. Ryan Zinke, R-Mont., a former Navy SEAL, tweeted urgently on Thursday.

Yeah, it continued over Montana then south over Wyoming, two very sparsely states. Should have shot it down.

I wondered if the big brains at the Pentagon even considered that since it's a balloon the all they'd have to do is make small (bullet sized, for example) holes in it to let it come down gently in some field. They don't have to launch a giant missile to make it blow up like in a Hollywood blockbuster and create the giant debris field that they were worried about.

If anything happens, we'll be the last to know.

The balloon has just been shot down over water. It should have been shot down over Montana over land. Recovery? We'll see. Or won't see.

Once again, simple solution here that our government can't figure out..... OK, here is the answer. Figure out a way to slowly deflate the balloon. Bring it to an altitude where we can capture it intact. What's the benefit of this??? Ok, let me spell it out for our government. Now we can see exactly what it is and see what type of Chinese technology is aboard. Oh, and if it has communications and surveillance capabilities... now we have their technology..... wonder how many more balloons China will send if we do this.....
