You're right to distrust authority, but wrong to let yourselves be disarmed.

To be fair, if you're a gun owner in a small town, you're safe. Not because the cops actually uphold the constitution, but because they figure it's safer not to go toe to toe with a bunch of cranky rednecks with guns and drugs.
