< There are no words. None.

I still can't get past how anyone can put their trust in someone and elect him to president after he lied to his son in a promise to run like Biden did. Ugh,.

▶️ "If I'm being 100% honest here, you said a lot that I agree with in this thread. (I'm not sure if that upsets me more or you.)

The biggest items are the choice of movies two great ones there with all star casts. Good to watch them on PBS - no commercials unless it's pledge drive week/month."

⏺️ It doesn't upset me. I'd rather things didn't though I've noticed in the past year I've fallen susceptible to the tendency of going by an overall pattern of animosity with comments and reacting to that instead of reacting to the one comment in front of me - the latter which is how I like to think I approach things. Things have gotten so polarized here that flexibility isn't as easy anymore. (I still feel like a dick about that time about the Kiss vid. I do regret that and went looking for it a week or two later to no avail.)

Like the discussion that started above, things started off ok but then veered into increasingly irritated as I strayed from the party line. I guess some actually do like Hillzy and Al Bore as last week a similar thing happened with someone else over Mr Tropical Artic 2014. I find myself refraining from telling these party loyalists that I voted for Nader in 2000 lest that really tears the world asunder. All those dead polar bears, unable to eat baby seals because of me *wipes tear* Of course no one brings up the fact that all these creatures are starving to death because of overfishing, not because the ice might melt some more a century from now.

Them two movies are among my top all time faves. Bonafide goodness back from when life was beautiful. A slight problem with no commercials is that I don't get up as often and sitting as tired as I always am risks me dozing off and missing bits.

I do loathe pledge weeks, with the hypocrisy of broadcasting choice stuff to seduce donations acting like if the bucks roll in, we'll see 70s Rock concerts and Motown reunions for the almost geriatric set year round, and then they don't. Plus cutting in every 5 minutes for 8 minutes of guilt begging. Ooh, let me go send in $125 so I can get a free Johnny Mathis DVD of the concert they keep interrupting the broadcast of and harshing my Christmas mood with shame! Friggin jerks.

Hillary would have been much better than Trump.

I don't think Biden would have won in a landslide in 2016 just like Gore didn't win in a landslide despite a great economy and stock market and balanced budget

True, but then again, just about anyone except Eric and George Santos would be better than Trump.

Landslide might have been a bit too strong, but no one likes Hillary, and Biden would have performed better in states that Hillary took so for granted, she didn't even stop by to campaign. She got 3 million more votes than Trump, and that's with no one liking her. Not that Biden is that much more appealing, but he was still more appealing than her anyways.

Bill's base was women groupies. Gore was like Hill, they both weren't Bill, and no one was screaming for them like they were the best thing since the Beatles at Shea. Gore has the personality of a boiled egg that's been sitting in the fridge for a week. Groupies don't want to settle for a boiled egg just because the rock star left the building.

12 yrs continuous presidency for one political party is pretty rare.

Americans want change and often even if things are pretty good.

I think single termers will become a lot more frequent in the future.

Yet if it wasn't for Comey, Hillary would have won. Biden had a way better chance than her.

However, for all those who don't believe me (like they didn't in 2016) when it's Biden vs Trump in 2024. Biden has been trying really hard to lose by exacerbating the very conditions that got Trump elected in the first place. He just may succeed,,,

Well IMO Hillary lost to trump more because people assumed there was no way America would elect a pussy grabbing conman and didn't do their civic duty by voting.

The trumpers came out in force to erase that black man's legacy and the Hillaryites stayed home amd didn't vote.

Everyone knows Comey's last minute announcement cost her the win, as intended.

Meanwhile, Trump lost to Biden only because of Covid. Not sure how those conditions can be replicated in 2024 (and hopefully they won't, plague-wise), but Biden has nothing to show except for proving Trump 1001% right. No one is going to get used to millions of illegals not just flooding in, but given REFUGEE STATUS! of all things, with the percs. That crap used to be reserved for Cubans and other Commies. Illegals scrubbed dishes for less than minumum and paid their own bills. Now Mayor Adams wants a billion to hook them up with homes and jobs while we already had record homeless with our own. His solution for our citizens? Declare as many as you can as mentally ill and lock them away in insitutions. For life. Doubt we're gonna witness many coming up with other solution in other states.

And ballooning the budget with expenditures like 1.3 trillion for repairing bridges for backwater states too cheap to buy a can of Rust-Oleum sure ain't helping Biden, who ironically thinks he got the those Red Staters' votes cinched now.

Trump's rise seems to have stalled a little, hopefully that trend continues and is enough to defeat him, because simply being the not-Trump isn't enough to beat him again.

Except you might not want everything on the menu, you might even want only what you want, and if the final tally is that everyone's fave didn't get enough but the 4th choice of them all did, so you end up stuck with someone not most wanted and probably didn't for a good reason. When you go for General Tso's Chicken and they bring you Chow Mein because they made a ton more of it that day, you're not gonna be a pleased customer.

Not voting 3rd party because reasons is part of the DemoRepubliCon's game. C'mon, do you really think Biden is doing his darndest to make voters miss Trump simply by accident? Give the idiot some credit, he's not THAT gone in the head. He, like the rest of the gang, made out like a bandit too during the Trump years. They're part of the elitist class Donny was hooking up. Oh no! They might send Hunter's laptop to jail! Pelosi might clap her hands in a funny way in response! Mortal enemies, grrrr grrrr,,,

You mean one of the Trump Corporations is? Or his underlings who testified against him and succeeded in proving Don the Con's guilt ............ so THEY went to prison instead of him because they worked for him?
Sheesh, we're lucky if he even shows up in court in his gazillions of cases.

Ranked choice? Most have no idea how that works, and who wants someone they don't want to win, win because they ranked them 4th on the list?

The only way to give 3rd parties a chance is by voting for them, which is what I do but most don't.

You go vote for Hillarat again and let me know how that turns out.

Have fun pretending the bumbling tool Biden is actually against Trump winning!
Remember, he, his crackhead son (who does Crack anymore?), the Clintons, Fakelosi, and the rest of the gang made MILLIONS more under Trump, and they couldn't give a rat's ass for the peons voting for a doddering loser again because they're the lesser of two evils for the idiot set to choose from yet again.

Some Like It Hot starting on PBS now, then it's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, toodles!

No, ranked choice is by average. A lesser favored candidate can win simply by getting more collectively than more popular candidates who had strong enthused bases, but were competing against others just as popular. Ross Perot could - and would have become president that way. No thanks, I'll pass.

Voting my conscience as opposed to some lesser of two evils who eat dinner together like Clintons and Trumps did is the opposite of throwing my vote away. It's making a statement as well.
If Trump wasn't so rancid, I would have been glad he beat Hillary. But I voted Stein, and I did because she was the only candidate that year that wasn't bought.

There's nothing to get used to.

I didn't vote for Trump or Hillarat. She tried to steal that election. Stupid faced Biden stepped aside to allow her to do so, breaking a promise to his dying son. Who the hell would vote for a shitter that lied to his own son on his deathbed? Then the pussbag has the audacity to stand by every little thing his rancid jerk off son who is sinking him does. Ugh, so foul, we're supposed to defend and make excuses for a degenerate loser who pays more for rent in a month than most of the minions make in a year?

It's that kind of the mentality - robotically voting as the duopoly machine tells you - that got Trump elected, and why he'll probably win again in 2024. It's the drones dutifully doing as told that are responsible, not those who won't vote for the moron machine.
