And NOT, say, the avian flu that has decimated chicken populations in the last year? An avian flu outbreak that has decimated 57 million chickens, which is far far higher than in previous outbreaks (like the 2015). A flu outbreak that is almost 100% fatal in corporate farms.
And with that radically reduced supply and an increased demand due to seasonal changes in eating habits (all that holiday baking requires a lot of eggs), the free market has driven the price of eggs up.
