I haven't had a parent break an instrument, but I've definitely seen people go through being forced to stop playing an instrument they loved because of a parent's desires

Parents don't understand you have to play to get better. When you first start out parents sometimes see it as just noise. Never had that experience personally, but my parents didn't let me continue for other reasons.

I realize the reality behind it is sad.
My friend was a great guitar player and would bring his axe to work from time to time. What I really liked about his guitar is that he hooked it up to a very small speaker. While not optimal, it was great to hear him play real music without breaking out the windows. Pretty cool option ( coming from a drum guy )

A real musician wants to have their instrument with them and be playing as much as possible. Live music is a very inspiring thing (whether it's loud or not). :)

My friend has since gone off to Rock & Roll Heaven, but he left me with a lot of good memories ❤️
He really did enjoy having his guitar with him and I was glad for the free concerts :-)
