Minor correction - it's not $2.5 million for EACH member of congress. It's a pot of $2.5 million that they can use for a residential security system program.
That being said, I'm by no means defending this program. Do the math and that's $4,672.90 for each member of the house and senate to install a security program. Shit, for that much money they can dig a moat, install claymores and gun towers, and have Doberman pinchers roam the grounds.
All this while they also try to take away law abiding citizens' guns, one of the only means that we have to protect ourselves.
