The yurt/ger/kibitka is no mere tent; it's a whole house that can be disassembled, moved & rebuilt in a relatively short time. The Mongolians invented mobile homes in more ways than one. High officials such as the Genghis Kahn mounted their homes on large wagons so they didn't have to be taken apart.
