Good logic to get rid of the electoral college.

Not if you look at it as the needs of the many states versus the needs of the few states.

Not to mention the total population of the so-called "flyover states" outnumbers the total population of California and New York. Just because they're the most densely populated states, doesn't make them "the many".

Yeah but people are people. States aren’t people. So there’s that.

What utter nonsense. States *represent* the people living there, just as cities and countries do.

no, people represent people. cows, land, buildings, don't represent people.

Yup, I figured you were another one of those. The people who are arguably the most important to keeping your country alive, because they grow most of your food on that unoccupied land, but they don't matter because there's not as many of them per square inch.

I'll refer you back to my previous reply, the one with my Hunger Games meme. Just because the "important" states are the most densely populated, doesn't mean they've got the majority of people in the country.

But they do. Wyoming and Rhode Island shouldn’t have the same number of senators than California and Texas. It’s stupid.

Also the need of many in the US are living wages, affordable housing, and universal healthcare. This is up against the needs of a few: those that make money off these things as well as employ the people working for sub living wages.

So- who wins in this case?

I'll agree with you on that. You're actually proving my point.

But we're at a point where the needs of the few are being put first and it's considered socially acceptable. Someone here in Canada just got arrested for not using someone's "pronouns". That's Big Brother, Thinkpol level shit.

so you are good with living wages, affordable housing, and universal healthcare. I guess they're easier concepts to grasp in Canada.

Neither socialism nor capitalism are good in their pure forms. The same goes for political ideologies. Pure communism is evil, as is pure fascism, and even pure democracy. What's needed is a healthy mix of all of them, in the right percentages.

We had a fairly good mix here in Canada, until recently, when socialism got a much bigger dose into the mixture, and we started rolling down the path to authoritarianism, or even full fascism.

And isn't it funny how most people who can't make a living wage live in the two wealthiest, liberal run states that boast the majority of people and companies paying those sub-living wages.

Incorrect. This line is explicitly communist.

So not all that different from democracy's "majority rule".

Which is why a constitutional republic is better.
