Their wallets aren’t “pried open”, they give voluntarily , just like they voluntarily attend those sevices at their church, synagogue, or mosque.
You guys constantly screech “separation of Church and State”, even though the Constitution doesn’t actually say that…now, consider that if the Church has no representation within the Government, why should they have to contribute monetarily to a government that excludes their participation? Besides, said Church is and are the members of said church, and those same said members already pay taxes to the local, state, and federal government already.
Additionally, the government spends those taxes on programs that are diametrically opposed to the tenets of most religious doctrines (Islamic, Jewish, Catholic, Christian, all of them). Again, why should they be forced to pay for , oh, say…abortions, contraceptives, the LBGQT agenda, etc, etc?
Furthermore, the “Church” (again, that includes Islamic, Jewish, Catholic, Christian, etc, etc) uses the money that their followers contribute, voluntarily, in their local communities, in more efficient ways than governments can ever hope to.
In conclusion, the government already takes more money than it legitimately needs and wastes it on things like “gender studies”, $25 Million for “Anti-discrimination and Bias Training” at HHS, $200 Million for Presidio Trust, aka “Pelosi’s Park”,
Welfare for Journalists, $1.25 Billion for Activists, Bureaucrats to Go After Landlords, endless wars, $26.5 Billion for Left-Wing Transportation Programs(can’t have racist roads and fossil- fuel run vehicles, says Pete Buteguieg(sp??), $197 Million to Subsidize Hiring Local Teachers, and last, but certainly most…multiple billions of our dollars and arsenal being funneled into the Ukraine.
