If it's just a seasonal stylistic thing that people want to add to their names or profiles, perhaps a different type of feature suggestion would be better? Or a new feature for profile pages?

This would mean that you can save up to…let’s say 5 names on your account that only you can use and nobody else can. This would be helpful so that people like me don’t get their usernames stolen every time they want to change it.

Yep I understand that - the fundamental problem is we don't want to give infinite usernames to every account so that they're constantly changing. This would massively pollute the already polluted pool of usernames which are reserved but unused.

This is why I'm fishing for a different suggestion rather than just "give us more username changes faster", because doing that would be a detriment to the community. Perhaps just the ability to change back to usernames you've already used?

People change their names too much. If you change your name constantly you decrease the likelihood of your name, and therefore your memes, becoming a recognized "brand".
Keeping a name for awhile, instead of changing it frequently, increases your odds of getting clicks, since people who don't follow you can still recognize your name and work.

The timer was added before I joined imgflip. Before the timer you had to delete your account and make a new one to change your name.
I didn't change the subject. Frequent name changes IS the subject...

No. It is too close to christmas for that. next time I change it may be for the 4th of July, but probably Halloween. It would be patrioticwingslover, or freedomwingslover, and then spookywingslover again. All recognizable as me.

This is one of the reasons I got so popular on here. For 9 months out of the year I keep the same name and everyone else is always changing theirs the second they are able to after 30 days. I don’t see the point of changing it except for Halloween, thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Most people only change it for the holidays and then it is a variant of their name, like Festive_Iceu, or me at Halloween, spookywingslover and it is still recognizable. Also, it isn’t like you can make money off Imgflip, so does it matter if you get clicks or not in the grand scheme of things?
