What's more controlling than telling a person they can't even exist?

Telling a man he can't get pregnant isn't "controlling". It is "informing".

Telling someone who's pregnant that their pregnancy can't possibly exist is not informing!!!

It is informing them that they are not a man.

If you weren't born with a v*gina and a uterus, you cannot get pregnant.

That is a fact of nature, anti.

And some men have a va**na and a uterus. That is beyond your control. Deal with it.

They can dress, identify, behave however they want. And that I will respect. I will use whatever name or pronouns they want.
However, if they can get pregnant, biologically speaking, they are female. Nothing they can do, think, or feel will change that.

They say they're not. And there's an ammendment to the Consitution that says there's nothing you can do about that; I don't know if you've heard of it, but.

What number amendment?

If the political will doesn't even exist to push an amendment protecting abortion rights, I doubt the political will to deny biology does.
And in our "enlightened" society, gender shouldn't be relevant anyhow.
But biology is immutable.

You're not American, are you? You're having to ask which ammendment means you can't control someone's speech.

And I hate to be the one to tell you THIS as well, but, you can't suspend the entire Consitution for not extending to the abortion debate, either.

Free speech means you can say men can get pregnant. It doesn't guarantee anyone will believe that nonsense or make that statement true.
I never suggested suspending the constitution.
You said that there's an amendment to the constitution says men can get pregnant. I assumed you meant a newer one that was in the works but hadn't passed yet. But If you're using "free speech" as that amendment, then anything anyone says is true just because they said it. I don't think so.

Well, if you'll go ahead and read the OP for me and the thread that you chimed in on, you'll discover that the core debate was about who was controlling whom in this situation.

If you've lost the plot of this discussion, that's on you.

Power and control. (We'd reached the end of the thread, so I responded higher up in the thread).

Yes they want to control, not what just what people do, but what they think.
I honestly don't care what a person with a va**na does or says. As long as it doesn't affect me, I don't care. I will even use their chosen name and pronouns. But they seem to care rather deeply about whether people believe their claims.
Men cannot get pregnant. That is as true as 2+2=4.

But like in the book 1984, the party insists we believe that 2+2=5. It's not enough to allow others to say it. It won't even be enough to mouth the words ourselves. We must internalize the lie and say it wholeheartedly.
But even if we say and believe 2+2=5, it will not change the truth. 2+2=4, it always has and it always will, regardless of what absurdities we accept.

Nobody's asking you to say that I'm holding up five fingers. We're just asking you to let trans people live the life they will live. And if a man gets pregnant and you tell them that they can't get pregnant, YOU'RE the one trying to exercise power and control and that point, not them.

It's that simple.

I'm not saying that they can't get pregnant, I'm saying that they are still biologically female, no matter what they identify as. That is a scientific fact.
They can act however and do whatever they want. I don't have a problem with that. That doesn't change what they are biologically.
What it really boils down to is that all these other supposed signifiers of gender are fake and made up. Biologically and scientifically it all comes down to reproduction. That is why when someone tries to define what a woman or man is with anything besides reproductive parts or capabilities, they come up short. Because everything else is just opinion, or what is in vogue for that gender at that point in time. For example, many of the fashions that we associate with feminity (lace, floral patterns, and high heels) were originally exclusively for the male aristocracy.

Repeating a lie does not make it true

If you repeat yourself, I will too.

They aren't a man if they are pregnant.
