I want to do the same thing with tons of people that I know! I'm gathering knowledge right now, and I asked my priest

- You must still say that you love them
- Use the bible as proof, and make sure that you have read the bible, or you can have your bible with you if you have not memorized scripture (Don't pull it up on your phone, she might think that you found it from some random site and accuse you of lying.
- A demon may manifest, BE PREPARED! Yes, demons are real
- You may lose her as a friend, but you are witnessing to her because you care about her
- Watch other people witnessing on youtube (make sure that they are legit)

Hope this helps!

Love the drawing btw

On this point

How do you do that in a bible based way without offending?
[deleted]
2 ups, 1y
You basically want to let them know of the danger, which shows that you care about them. If they continue to not see the danger with sin, unbelief, etc. it is not a good idea to force them. Remember to use scripture (especially if they are "Christian").

Think of it this way. You and your friend were walking on the street and a big bison comes charging at you. You get out of the way, but your friend does not see the danger and stays there. Your instinct is to help them, but they won’t budge.

When talking to someone, they will most likely not understand why you are telling them of their sins because they do not see the danger, and you can use an example like this to show that you have good intentions.

God bless!

"Use the bible as proof"

Isn't that circular reasoning?

"A demon may manifest, BE PREPARED!"

What does that mean?

Ah yes, it may be hard to understand. It was hard for me to understand at first too. Demons are real, and they hate the gospel and the truth. If someone preaches the truth/gospel, they may manifest (not in physical form) but through a person/animal/demonic attack, and then they must be casted out.

And no the bible is facts lol

Do you have any evidence? What can you show to demonstrate that they're real, besides Bible verses?

"And no the bible is facts lol"

Well first of all, you cannot see demons because they are in the spiritual realm.
1. Sleep paralysis is demonic
2. Demonic rituals
3. Some mental disorders
4. I know you said no bible, but The Bible

How can you prove that demons are not real? I have experienced attacks myself.

And God cannot lie, and the bible is the word of God. It even shows through the bible that God keeps his promises, and not once does he lie.

"you cannot see demons because they are in the spiritual realm."

There is no spiritual realm in the Book. So right there, as the rest that follows, is nonsense
1 up, 1y,

"Well first of all, you cannot see demons because they are in the spiritual realm"

How do you know a spiritual realm exists? What evidence is there?

"Sleep paralysis is demonic"

Sleep paralysis has a natural explanation

"Demonic rituals"

What does that mean

"Some mental disorders"

There isn't a single mental disorder that has any supernatural or demonic cause as far as anyone has ever demonstrated

"I know you said no bible, but The Bible"

Using the Bible to prove the Bible is circular reasoning. A Muslim could do the same thing with the Quran, but I'm sure you don't believe the Quran is from God

"How can you prove that demons are not real?"

I never said I could prove they are not real. The burden of proof is on the person making the claim. If you're saying they're real, you have the burden of proof to show they are real. If you can't show they are real, I have no reason to believe they exist.

"And God cannot lie, and the bible is the word of God"

Again, that's circular reasoning. And regardless of what the Bible says about being from God, it does contain a number of factual errors and incorrect statements.

There is a lot of evidence, I think you should do your research.

Although people try to say there is a natural reason, how come the one think it prevents you from doing is speaking the name of Jesus. Also, what is your natural explanation

After demonic rituals, many people have reported furniture moving around, and many other paranormal things specifically after the ritual. I've seen it happen.

There is a spirit behind some mental disorders, and even possession sometimes. Check out this article.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2016/07/01/as-a-psychiatrist-i-diagnose-mental-illness-and-sometimes-demonic-possession/

I honestly don't even think you know the definition of circular reasoning. Yes, a Muslim can do similarly to me. There is scientific evidence behind the existence of God and the supernatural. The reason why I use the bible is because that is what I believe, and God can't lie. Along with that, I have sent links in comments to you before proving what God is saying through his word. this isn;t my opinion, this is the Lord's. What source are you using?

Also I never asked you to believe what I am saying. They asked for advice, and I gave it to them. You commented on a post that wasn’t even in a stream you follow, enough trying to start a fight, it honestly feels pathetic.

What statements do you say are errors? How do you prove that? Through your own logic/opinions?
2 ups, 1y
"There is a lot of evidence"

What would you say is the best/strongest evidence?

"Although people try to say there is a natural reason, how come the one think it prevents you from doing is speaking the name of Jesus"

It doesn't. If you're paralyzed, you can't say anything.

"Also, what is your natural explanation"

I'd see what a doctor or scientist says. It most likely has to do with the interaction between your brain and your body when you're asleep or half asleep.

"After demonic rituals, many people have reported furniture moving around, and many other paranormal things specifically after the ritual. I've seen it happen"

You've seen furniture move around the room without anybody touching it? Even if I believe that that's true, why do you think a demon is the most likely explanation?

I can't read that article because WaPo requires a subscription.

"I honestly don't even think you know the definition of circular reasoning"

I sure do. It's pretty obvious.

"There is scientific evidence behind the existence of God and the supernatural"

No there isn't. The word supernatural means outside of our natural world. Science only deals with things that are part of our natural world. Science doesn't say supernatural things do or don't exist. It can't make any comment on anything that might exist outside of our natural, physical world. If anything supernatural does exist, it cannot be proven scientifically because of that.

But since you brought it up, what do you think the scientific evidence is for supernatural things?

"The reason why I use the bible is because that is what I believe, and God can't lie"

You say that God can't lie because the Bible says so, and you say the Bible can be trusted because it's from God. That is circular reasoning. You're trying to use something to prove itself true. It doesn't work that way.

"What source are you using?"

Logic and reason

"enough trying to start a fight, it honestly feels pathetic"

How did I try to start a fight? I simply asked you some questions about what you said.

"What statements do you say are errors?"

There are lots of statements in the Bible that are errors. The Bible says that the sun stood still in the sky for an entire day. That has never happened in human history or as long as the earth has existed. The people who wrote the Bible thought that the sun was just a small bowl of light that moved across the sky and that it could stay in one place or change direction. We know that that's not physically possible and has never happened. And if I did actually happen for some reason, every culture on the planet would've written about it.

The book of Matthew says that when Jesus died, the curtain in the Jewish temple tore in half from top to bottom. That also never happened. The Jewish temple was extremely important and holy to Jews in the first century. If that had happened, every Jewish historian and scholar within 100 miles would have written it down. And yet it only gets one brief mention in a story written down decades later?

The Bible mentions a global flood which never happened. It mentions people living 900 years or more, which has never happened. It mentions giants existing, which didn't happen. It says that a guy built a large boat and gathered animals from all over the planet, something which would be impossible for many different reasons. The whole story is completely laughable.

Also, the Bible says that animals can talk, like snakes and donkeys. They can't.

"How do you prove that? Through your own logic/opinions?"

Through evidence, science and facts.

But the Bible allows grown men to marry young girls

Marriage with a young girl and a pedo with a young boy (the original quote might actually be referring to a boy within one's familly specifically, not clear), are not being addressed as the same things.

Because it violates God's design. There was homosexuality in Sodom and Gomorrah, and that city was destroyed. It was hard to understand for me at first when I was LGBT, but that lifestyle did bring lots of bad things to me (just as the bible shows happens). There are many verses that say that homosexuality is a sin.

"As hard as we might try, we cannot change ourselves to be cisgender and heterosexual as you all want."

(the following is not out of spite or hate, but out of love; I sincerely want to help):

Our culture assures homosexuals that they were born gay and that confused sexuality is to be celebrated, not overcome. Thus we have an entire generation of children and teens who never knew a time when homosexuality was rightly considered abnormal. In elementary and middle schools, it is now fashionable to call oneself “gay” or “bi” or use any number of other faddish sexual labels without any real understanding of their meaning—or of the moral and eternal implications.

A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as some people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person’s choosing to sin by giving in to sinful desires. Just because a person is born with a greater susceptibility to fits of rage, that doesn’t make it right for them to give in to those desires and explode at every provocation. The same is true with a susceptibility to homosexuality.

People may not always be able to control how or what they feel, but they can control what they do with those feelings (1 Peter 1:5–8). We all have the responsibility to resist temptation (1 Cor. 10:13; Eph. 6:13). We must all be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). We must all “walk by the Spirit” so as not to “gratify the desires of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16).

No matter our proclivities or attractions, we cannot continue to define ourselves by the very sins that crucified Jesus—and at the same time assume we are right with God. Paul lists many of the sins that the Corinthians once practiced (homosexuality is on the list). But in 1 Corinthians 6:11, he reminds them, “That is what some of you *were.* But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God” (emphasis added). In other words, some of the Corinthians, before they were saved, lived homosexual lifestyles; but no sin is too great for the cleansing power of Jesus. Once cleansed, we are no longer defined by sin because our old nature, including sexual immorality, is put to death (Romans 6:12–14; 8:13).

Let me get this straight, and I will not be replying to any more comment of yours after this
We were not born with the choice to have any LGBTQ aspects, in fact, a lot of us hate some of the things that come along with it
But let me tell you, God created each of us the way we are for a reason, and by telling an LGBTQ person that being their LGBTQ self is a sub, you are, by extension, claiming that God is sinning by creating us in the LGBTQ community the way we are
And before you try to say anything about it, we CANNOT change our sexuality intentionally, or change how we feel and want to express our gender, no matter how hard we try
The only way for this to be changed is for us to literally have our entire brains removed, which would just cause death, and God did not create people to kill other people
On the part where you said it is "fashionable," identifying as anything other than the cishet person society wants you to be will cause an insane amount of bullying. I've been attacked for who I am, and I cannot change it. Even though some people may try to change their gender or sexuality, even by making immense changes in their lives, we CANNOT simply stop being LGBTQ.
And again, it is not a sin to be LGBTQ or make LGBTQ actions, since God created us the way we are for a reason, and, once again, telling us we're sinning for simply being what God created us as is accusing God of sinning by creating us
And, just for a final clarification, as long as this account exists, I will not be responding to any more comments on this image from you

I'm sorry, I didn't intend to hurt you at all. Again, It's not my intention to cast judgement—and it's certainly not my place to judge either. I'm really trying to help provide some insight.

Being drawn toward a morally forbidden relationship is not an active sin; it is a temptation. Sin occurs when we dwell upon the wrong thoughts, the temptation spawns, or when we choose to yield to the temptation. Our natures have been so infected with sin that what is evil often looks good to us. Sin causes us to see the world and our own actions through a warped perspective. Our thoughts, desires, and dispositions are all affected. Scripture says we are sinners by nature (Romans 5:12). So, same-sex attraction is not always an active, willful sin, but it springs from the sinful nature. Same-sex attraction is always, on some level, an expression of the flesh, or the fallen nature.

It is technically true that Jesus did not specifically address homosexuality in the Gospel accounts; however, He did speak clearly about sexuality in general. Concerning marriage, Jesus stated, “At the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate” (Matthew 19:4–6). Here Jesus clearly referred to Adam and Eve and affirmed God’s intended design for marriage and sexuality. God’s character does not change with culture’s opinion (Malachi 3:6; Numbers 23:19; Hebrews 13:8).

Yes, God created each of us the way we are for a reason, but not always for the reason(s) we think or expect. Don't stop at the conclusion that this is who you are meant to be and that it's impossible to change, as I once did. Always keep an open mind and pray, asking God to guide and lead you.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Jesus said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27)

Again, PLEASE don't take this as an attack on you; it is NOT my intent to judge, attack, or hate on you or anyone else, and I apologize if it does come across that way. I really do try to be understanding, and I truly want to help you.

Whatever you are going through, I'll pray for you.

God bless you, and Merry Christmas!

"Our culture assures homosexuals that they were born gay and that confused sexuality is to be celebrated"

Being gay isn't being confused. If you find someone attractive and someone else doesn't find that person attractive, would you tell them they're confused? If I find someone attractive and you don't, does that mean you're confused?

"we have an entire generation of children and teens who never knew a time when homosexuality was rightly considered abnormal"

It was wrongly considered abnormal. There was also a time when interracial couples were considered abnormal. Should we still consider them abnormal?

"or of the moral and eternal implications"

What moral and eternal implications?

"Just because a person is born with a greater susceptibility to fits of rage, that doesn’t make it right for them to give in to those desires and explode at every provocation. The same is true with a susceptibility to homosexuality"

Lashing out violently hurts other people. Being gay doesn't.

"Paul lists many of the sins that the Corinthians once practiced"

Paul also said women are inferior to men. So what?

The Anti-Christ is not Saul/Paul, where did you get that? Hahahaha! The Anti-Christ spirit is in the world right now and he is going to make an appearance in person soon (basically he's going to do what Jesus did, but for the dark side)
Yes Saul was a bad person before and his actions were not ok, he even admits it throughout the New Testament. However he repented of his actions, and God showed him mercy not because Saul/Paul was good, but because God is good. I do not agree with Saul's actions, but people can change. Were you the same person you were 10 years ago? Most likely not!

And don't accuse me of lying, in the end times Jesus does mention sexual immorality and homosexuality falls under that category, later on in the new testament it says this in 1 Corinthians 6:9
