I don't think so. A perfect example of level journalism is the very first episode of Frontline: The Abortion Clinic. The Science is sound, and both pro-choice and pro-life views are treated neutrally. Sesame street and Mr. Rogers neighborhood focused on education, not entertainment. Shows like Nature were focused on animals, not political agendas.
I consider myself a centrist with some conservative leanings. I partially have PBS to thank for that. Today PBS has sold out to Corporate sponsorship. It used to mostly supported by "Viewers like you"

Looking through your memes, it is very very clear that there's nothing centrist or moderate about you.

I take just as much flak for far right extremists for my views, especially on message. Here I do have more of right slant, because if you can still support Joe Biden after paying $5.00 for a loaf of bread, you've either got to be rich or brainwashed.

That's not what makes you centerist. That just means that there are people even further to the right than you are, which is not a particularly bold statement.

Generally, people who are ACTUALLY centerist have noticed that inflation is currently a global phenomenon. A key point to notice is that one of the countries hit the worst by inflation is the UK, who, famously, have been lead by hyperconservatives for the last five years and general conservatives for the last twelve. In other words, you can have a conservative government and not only would you STILL have inflation, IT WOULD BE WORSE. Kind of hard to blame Biden for something like that.

You don't have to like him, but a true centrist has a hard time laying the blame for that on him.

You are not a centrist.

You don't even know what my opinion is! This is me just describing the opinions of people you pretended to be one of!!

So you're entitled to tell me who I am, but I can't even suggest that your name, antithesis, is relevant to the nature of this conversation? I don't mind talking to you. Let's take it down a notch and not make it personal.

I have lots of views that regularly get me booed out of both camps. But I do tend to vent right on this site as an outlet.

The Biden administration put the kibosh on the XL-pipeline, near stopped fracking, and defunded oil production subsidies. That's not partisan opinion. That's fact.

Everything we buy is transported by barge and truck. The cost of oil directly effects the cost of living. Heating oil is TWICE as much as it was two years ago. I live in a cold climate. I'm personally feeling the pinch.

Great. So why is heating oil in conservative-lead UK ALSO more expensive if not more so? Heating oil in Inverness DEFINITELY wasn't going to get anything out of Keystone.

I don't mind having a conversation with you but you're not particularly listening to what I'm saying, so this isn't really that.

I can't seem to reply to your last post. I'm saying the XL Pipeline of just one of many contributing factors, as I clearly stated by listing a few examples. I did fail to mention our president decided to tap our emergency oil reserves rather than re-subsidizing the oil rigs he pulled the rug out from under, land wells, and fracking.

I'm also not saying any of that is safe for the environment, but it does affect us at the checkout line. It's as black and white as you are accusing me of making it.

I understand both sides, but if we don't see some positive results in the next two years, I'm voting republican, if only for tax reduction, meeting big oil halfway, and getting the prices down... Frankly it's a long shot, but it's the only option I have other than what we've been experiencing for the last 2 years.

Are you saying that the Biden administration hasn't been responsible for policies that have reduced oil production in the United States?
[deleted]

Are you saying that Keystone WOULD have increased oil production in the US? Because that is Canadian-extracted oil for export through the Gulf of Mexico. Wouldn't have boosted US production by a single deep.

Trump really isn't a good man, but he wasn't a bad president. If he had held off ice we would have had American oil independence, border security during the pandemic, a defensive withdrawal from Afghanistan, a maintained position of strength on the world stage, and possibly no Russia Ukraine war.

This isn't fanaticism, these were Trump's policies. Biden can't get more upvotes than downvotes on Youtube. Unfortunately there are just as many blind zealots for Trump as there are blind zealots for Biden.

Trump had good economic polices, that doesn't make him a good man, but he was good for the country. Joe Biden wants us all to think he's a progressive grandpa, but he's been selling our interests out to foreign countries for years, especially China.

Moving all of our manufacturing jobs to China isn't saving the planet, it's just taking pollution out of our back yards.

Our politicians don't care about the planet. Left or right, but to tell you the truth, I just want to keep a car on the road and be able to buy food and heat my house.

So yeah, I guess I vent more here on imgflip than elsewhere, but don't accuse me of being an extremist or maga, I'm not. I certainly don't want to see Trump run again. The media circus alone is reason enough for that.

There was a time when we voted on presidents for their policies, not their promises and personalities. There was a time we voted for presidents for reasons other than "not being the other guy"

a BROKEN CLOCK IS RIGHT TWICE A DAY! Yep I agree PBS always sucked should never have even existed. NPR and PBS should be defunded, should have been decades ago.

Public broadcasting is one of the best investments the USA has ever made. In some parts of the country, PBS is the only public educational service there is.
