The Pilgrims were not in the habit of big parties - these uptight Christians normally frowned on the idea of fun. However, after they had created a permanent settlement & had a bumper crop
(having learned much from a fellow named Squanto),
they felt it was time to celebrate their good fortune. As the women prepared the grown food, the men
took their guns to hunt fowl. They successfully returned with what should have been enough meat
for everyone, only to have 90 Natives unexpectedly show up! They nervously invited the surprise guests
to join them, wondering how to stretch a feast meant
for 50 people now increased to 140. To be continued.
