I think it’s the switch theory where lights on means Sun and no lights means Moon. If they were two separate entities, why would one appear right where the other had been moments before, and how come Sun didn’t help Gregory when the lights go out? Moon would come after Gregory with the lights still on, and Sun wouldn’t spend his time warning Gregory about the lights when all they really do is make it darker. But really, do you except Fazbear Entertainment NOT to make an animatronic like that? I don’t think they would pass up that kind of opportunity to show off animatronics that change from and color at the flip of a light switch.

People have come up with theories where the rays retract, the color changes using that one weird technology that makes things change color in the light, and the hat either comes out of the head like the rays or the stomach hatch.

I think it just pops out out a little storage unit or something. If you look at Moon from the gameplay, the hat is definitely small enough to fit in his head
