"(1) A person is guilty of child abuse in the first degree if either of the following applies:
(a) The person knowingly or intentionally causes serious physical harm or serious mental harm to a child.
(b) The person knowingly or intentionally consents to, obtains, or assists with a gender transition procedure for a child. For purposes of this subdivision only, "person" means a child's parent or guardian or any other person who cares for, has custody of, has authority over a child regardless of the length of time that a child is cared for, in the custody of, or subject to the authority of that person, or a physician or other licensed medical professional.
(2) Child abuse in the first degree is a felony punishable by imprisonment for life or any term of years."
This bill hasn't made it out of the Michigan legislature, it has just been introduced.
The law is about anyone, including a parent, subjecting a child to gender reassignment surgery. It does not matter if the child thinks they are a different gender or not. Far too many times the child grows out of thinking they are one thing or another.
I understand in the "woke" world forcing children into gender re-assignment surgery is cause for celebration but in the real world it is child abuse.
Children lack the ability to make such life altering decisions. Let them turn 18 and let them decided if they want to have that kind of surgery. Even at 18 some people are incapable making those kinds of decisions, but under the law, they are adults and are responsible for whatever mistake they inflict upon themselves.
Now that you are cheering on the Democrat controlled house, means that you support genital mutilation in children. Good job.
