Perhaps you should listen to some Richard Pryor, specifically his tract about visiting Africa and not seeing an N-word people and how he would no longer use that word because it was in fact keeping his own people down.

That’s one perspective, but it’s not a universal one. Plenty of black Americans would object to Pryor’s using the word to punch sideways at other black people.

Every black American is entitled to feel how they want to about the word. To use it, or not use it, as they see fit.

White people had control over it for centuries. Now, it’s theirs.
