Boy, reminds me of an article written by Fred Reed. I'll skip the fun fluff and get to the meat. Basically, he goes on about getting all those young soldiers all hyped up about being in the US armed forces. "You see, it's tough to get them hyped up by saying, 'Kids, we're going over to Afganistan to fight a war with a country that's been engaged in warfare for the last three decades. Most of the fighters have at least twelve years experience in combat, eating dried goat meat and sleeping in dusty caves. They've just got done defeating the Russian Army, so they're really feeling a swell of pride. This is going to be a really tough go'."
